Oklahoma State Labor Commissioner killed in stabbing at northwest Oklahoma City restaurant

Source: KOCO Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma State Labor Commissioner was killed in a stabbing Sunday at a northwest Oklahoma City restaurant.

The state Republican party confirmed Mark Costello was the victim in the stabbing at Braum's restaurant on May Avenue, north of Hefner Road.

Authorities said Costello was meeting with his son, Christian Costello, at the Braum's restaurant on May Avenue, north of Hefner Road. Police said they were inside the restaurant when Costello was stabbed. He stumbled out of the restaurant to get help, according to police.

Police said witnesses saw the suspect continue stabbing Mark Costello from behind and witnesses pulled Christian Costello off of Mark Costello until authorities could arrive. Authorities said Mark Costello was stabbed in the head and neck.

The story read like there was a third party involved at first reading. Kind of confusing. kelliekat44 Aug 2015 #4
I'd imagine that wasn't confirmed when they first went to press (nt) Recursion Aug 2015 #7

It was almost like the writer didn't want to admit that the son killed his father.

My condolences to her and the rest of the Costello family.

I'm guessing there's a fairly dark back-story that's going to emerge, but this isn't the day to discuss that.

I hope speculation about this will rise above the usual hatefest for republicans.

It seems OK is having an upswing in family violence. For the Okies in this thread, I am sure you heard about the 2 brothers that killed their parents recently and you might even have heard about the family altercation in Tulsa last Thursday that sent a 13 year old to the hospital with a bullet wound.
Loosing a loved one to violence is hard to comprehend no matter what the circumstances, but it must be especially difficult if the suspect is a member of your own family.
