Top Democratic fundraisers invited to meet with Joe Biden at Naval Observatory
Source: Washington Post
Major Democratic fundraisers have been invited to meet with Vice President Joe Biden at his residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory after Labor Day, part of a series of conversations he is having with senior party players as he contemplates jumping into the 2016 race.
Among the guests invited to the gathering are top bundlers who raised large sums for the Obama-Biden campaigns in 2008 and 2012, according to people familiar with the outreach. The sitdown is scheduled to take place during the week following Labor Day.
Biden's office declined to comment.

(10,857 posts)My guess: The Vice President will inform everyone that he's not going to run for President... but he will strongly support Hillary Clinton and hint that he might not be done by observing that there are no term limits for Vice Presidents.
As I've observed previously, Joe Biden has brought new power and vigor to the position of President of the Senate, which he has used to our advantage despite the Republican majority there. He also has the ability to resurrect the superbly efficient Obama-Biden campaign and financial support network. It's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Mrs. Clinton could end all speculation and name Biden her running mate right after Labor Day.

I nearly fell out of my chair when I heard Bill Richardson endorsed Clinton. I think the democratic party is circling around HRC.

(10,857 posts)You can't mention a New York Times article anymore without observing that they have already sacrificed a century of good reputation to smear Mrs. Clinton.
But, if their article about Biden starting up a campaign is true, keep in mind that it doesn't necessarily count Biden out as an eventual running mate with Mrs. Clinton.
Instead, it keeps the Democrats in the press while the clown circus rages, takes a little bit of pressure off of Mrs. Clinton, and gathers a pool of funding and financial resources which benefits the Clinton campaign when it counts most after the convention.
It is also probably designed to deflect attention from Bernie Sanders, but I think he's going to do just fine.
