Pat Robertson Blames Market Crash On Planned Parenthood

Source: Huffington Post

Never mind China’s stock market crash. Televangelist Pat Robertson proclaimed Monday that the massive Dow drop is actually divine retribution for the U.S. government supporting abortion access and funding Planned Parenthood.

"Here in America, we have been complicit in terminating the lives of in excess of 50 million precious unborn children, and don't you think almighty God is going to hold us accountable for that?" the "700 Club" host asked after airing a report on Planned Parenthood demonstrations. "It's coming ladies and gentleman. We just have a little taste of it in terms of the financial system, but it's going to get shaken to its core in the next few months, years or however long it takes, and it will hurt every one of us."

Legal access to abortion has of course been blamed many other times for completely unrelated ills. In June, California Assemblywoman Shannon Grove (R) suggested that the state's drought was God punishing the state for providing the health service.

“Texas was in a long period of drought until Governor Perry signed the fetal pain bill,” she told the audience. “It rained that night. Now God has his hold on California.”

Remember that two-time GOP convention keynoter and current Republican power broker Pat also "totally concurred" with his pal Jerry Falwell that America "deserved" 9-11 for not being wingnutty enough on abortion and gays.

Treasonous conservatives hate this country, see it as a cesspool of sin and want to see it destroyed in every aspect.

We didn't even HAVE Planned Parenthood then, so obviously God can't be just pissed off about this one thing.

Months... Years... However long...
By that measuring stick if the world comes crashing down 10000000 years from now it's God's wrath for abortions happening today
If God really cared, why not 1973 or 74 or any of the other years since its passage?
Why not after Reagan legalized it California?

21. It's like the Dim Mak

Dim Mak means "touch of death" - a seemingly less-than-lethal blow that kills you. It's a legendary martial arts blow - legends abound about guys dying from the Dim Mak (Bruce Lee supposedly died this way) but no one knows how to do it himself.

Anyway, in "Men who Stare at Goats" George Clooney tells about this guy in his old unit who received the Dim Mak and died from it 18 years later - you never know when it'll take effect.

It's pretty obvious that one of two things is operative here. Either God gave America the Dim Mak over abortion and we never quite know when it's going to take effect, or Pat Robertson is off his meds again. Since I somehow recall Pat Robertson considers Haldol a food group, I'm going with the second.

Religious insanity, thy name is Pat Robertson.

embraced the dark side of the force shortly after birth.

I guess we haven't had any major hurricanes or earthquakes in the U.S. lately, so there is nothing else to blame but Planned Parenthood.

If all the fish they had were scaly fish, this could explain the prohibition against scaleless fish.

In 1929 abortion was against the law all over America but we still had
a stock market crash and a great depression.

At least it's a slightly more logical explanation - Brussels, the administrative capital of Europe, is in Belgium and someone in the European Commission spoke to someone in the People's Republic of China who set some financial policy in place which set the Shanghai stock market crash into motion.

So I blame it all on the Belgians. Feel free to insert your own sarcasm tag ...
