Hunting show host charged with poaching in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) The host of the Sportsman Channel hunting show "The Syndicate" was charged Monday with two felonies related to poaching in northwest Alaska.
Karen Loeffler, the U.S. attorney in Alaska, said at a news conference that grizzly bears, moose, caribou and Dall sheep were illegally killed in the Noatak National Preserve with the illegal kills ending up on the cable television show.
"The charges show five years of documented, illegal take of wildlife involving over two dozen big game animals," Loeffler said.
There were at least four hunts conducted for the show in Alaska over that time span, said Steven Skrocki, the lead prosecutor.

(11,522 posts)ALL poachers belong in jail, even wealthy ones with TV shows. Sorry Ted (I'm so sure he's going to make an ass of himself over this), this isn't about your precious right to hunt, it's about breaking laws.

"Clark Dixon, host of the Syndicate hunting program was charged with poaching in Alaska"
"Clark Dixon and Lance Walker with Clark's giant Alaskan moose. Check out The Syndicate Hunting" [/center]
At some time, some people seemed to think they had to hunt to live.
Now they don't. They hunt to kill.
From the O.P.:
Clark Dixon is charged with taking a grizzly bear for a fee in 2010 without being a licensed and registered big game hunting guide. He's also charged with conducting an illegal outfitting operation since 2009. Prosecutors say he also lied about Alaska residency to take advantage of hunting privileges for locals.
They go into the home these animals ever knew, and steal their lives after causing them unbearable fear and suffering. That's NOT what I would ever call "manly," unless you can extend "manly" to include treacherous, thieving, ghouls who take advantage of the helpless, and race home to swagger and brag about it.

(14,807 posts)people who feel a need to murder (sport kill/trophy hunt) beautiful animals that have lived a long life and are part of a "wonder" for us to watch as well as part of Nature, are sick. It is an illness only to kill. Plain and simple.

September 12, 2015
Earlier this month, Verizon announced that it was dropping The Sportsman Channel due to its low viewership. NRA board member Ted Nugent called into Infowars (a program run by fellow gun nut Alex Jones) and went into a conspiracy theory rant:
My God, Alex, the number of freedom-abusing, freedom-destroying, fundamental transformation, abuse of power and corruption and fraud and deceit and anti-Americanism that runs amok in this country from the president on down, it breaks the hearts of good Americans by the hour across this country.
When Verizon cancels Sportsmens Channel, its a direct result of the anti-gun, anti-freedom, anti-hunting, anti-wildlife, anti-science, anti-Americanism that has infested our media across this land.
