Biden Would Enter 2016 Race As Most Popular Candidate: Poll

Source: NBC NEWS

SEP 28 2015, 5:48 PM ET
by CARRIE DANN

Joe Biden hasn't yet announced his plans for a 2016 White House bid, but a new poll shows that he would enter the race as the most popular presidential candidate if he chose to toss his hat into the ring.

According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, 40 percent of Americans have a positive impression of Biden, while 28 percent have a negative impression (+12).

That's compared to fellow Democrats Bernie Sanders (+10) and Hillary Clinton (-8), and to top-tier GOP candidates Ben Carson (+8), Carly Fiorina (+7) and Donald Trump (-33).

Biden would also out-perform Clinton in hypothetical head-to-head general election matchups against top Republican presidential hopefuls.

Saw two articles about Warren's speech mentioning racial injustice, one glowing and proclaiming ot the speech BLM has been 'waiting to hear', and the other kept using words like it was having to be forced out of her, that she was simply 'acknowledging' it, or 'conceding' it. I don't imagine either was true. She probably spoke honestly and openly about racial injustice, but BLM wants actions more than words. They've gotten the candidates to roll out racial justice platforms, but if they're 'waiting to hear' anything, it's that people are already working on implementing those plans now, not waiting for the elections.

majority to Congress 0R . . . OBAMA DOES MORE BY EXECUTIVE ORDER and working with the Justice Department and FBI.

Three choices: elect more Democrats to Congress -- takes time, have to wait until next election -- change things at the local level in local police departments across the country -- hard to organize and rather haphazard -- PUT PRESSURE ON OBAMA.

Those are the three choices as I see it. And it is too late to change congress before 2016. Any action on that by the BLM movement?

We desperately need the change, but 2014 was the year to elect today's Congress.

The logical course to get immediate action would be to pressure Obama and Lynch (formerly Holder). But apparently they are sacred cows, not to be criticized. So attack the old white Jewish guy who's fought for civil rights for 55 years. It's really flawed logic...like waging war on Iraq because Saudi Arabia attacked us. But it's the path BLM chose....they can't blame lack of immediate action on anyone but themselves.

That act includes a provision that prohibits getting forgiveness of student loan debt in a Bankruptcy Court. It's a really bad provision especially for kids who took out student loans to go to college and then dropped out before completing a marketable degree or certificate.

Biden would be a continuation of the Obama administration's problems including its weak stance on economic inequality.

Biden is another sold out to Wall Street candidate.

He is popular until he opens his mouth and has to defend the situation in the US today.

The fact that the arms we gave to the rebels in Syria thinking they were moderate have ended up in not so moderate hands will be a big problem for both Hillary and Biden in the 2016 race.

http://www.commondreams.org/news/2015/09/26/us-backed-syrian-rebels-handed-over-equipment-al-qaeda-affiliate-military-admits

We need Sanders because he is not associated with the problematic aspects of the past of the Obama administration and of Democratic politics such as the 2005 Bankruptcy Act.

Besides, Biden voted for the War in Iraq.

But these companies can't change it because it's how they "always did it".

I (68yo) don't have a land-line. I don't answer calls from any number not in my contacts. I am fiercely liberal and won't show up in these fake numbers.

My kids (in their 30's/40's) have college and other tremendous debt. They also don't respond to random calls from some polling/marketing organization.

Using facefook or other social media to determine who cares about what is just as flawed. It is not a valid random sample

But the media outlets don't care about accuracy or statistical significance. And neither does their old WASP audience.

while the GOP is heading towards an inglorious flame out. So they are trying to egg this on so they can eventually tear Biden down by calling him a "gaffe machine" and pushing his buttons. It's ironic that DUers would fall for it. I know that back in 2012, Biden was really testing it out - notably during the inauguration - and he was getting a lot of positive crowd feedback. But this current tactic of including him in polls when he is not even announced, is skewing much of the declared Democratic candidate trends.

I think these kinds of polls change radically after a candidate announces and the candidate's political history becomes showcased.

Right now Biden is very liked and respected. His VP performance against Paul Ryan was once of the unforgettable Dem pleasures of 2012 . I think there's also consensus that his public support for Gay Marriage was pivotal in pushing the Dem Administration to take the same stand. Plus Jill Biden would make a terrific FLOTUS.

But once he announces, Biden's going to have to defend his sabotage of Anita Hill & support of serial sexual harrasser Clarence Thomas (who turns the stomach of Dem women even decades later) Biden's impeccably earned moniker "The Senator from MNBA " is also completely anathema to the current anti Wall Street mood and frustration of the majority of Dem voters.

The bankruptcy bill that has screwed TONS of millennials that through that PIECE OF CRAP bill that Biden pushed through the Senate keeps them from being able to declare bankruptcy with their reams of college debt now, that screws all of us when they can't be a part of our society when they are made debt slaves to Wall Street and the 1%ers with that legislation.

Watch it, millennials are going to be very angry with you. Probably one big reason that cumulative college debt now is larger than cumulative credit card debt is largely due to this crappy legislation that keeps them debt slaves.

If he enters the race, you can be damn sure that this will be raised as an issue by those of us who want liberation by the fascist rule of the 1% that too many other pols besides Bernie are slaves to.

I hope he doesn't decide to run though. For a few reasons. One of them is that he hasn't even entered the damn race yet, and there's a media circus that it seems is trying to bully him into it - I don't expect he'll have an easy time of it once (and if) he does enter. He's a good man - but he is a man who is grieving for his son, who, once his service as VP is finished, should run as far away from the bull shit as he can get. That's what I'd want my Father to do if something happened to me. I'd want him to have some peace, some happiness, some time to go through the grieving process and come out on the other side.

I would vote for Sanders regardless, but I hope that, for Biden's sake, he stays out of this race. It's going to get seriously ugly.
