Black Lives Matter says it will not disrupt Sunday's Twin Cities Marathon

Source: Star Tribune

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman said Thursday that organizers of the St. Paul chapter of Black Lives Matter have assured him that protesters will not disrupt Sunday’s Twin Cities Marathon and stop runners from finishing the race.

Coleman made his comments at a media briefing Thursday afternoon after meeting privately for more than two hours with Rashad Turner, the leader of the St. Paul chapter of Black Lives Matter at the mayor’s office in City Hall. Coleman said that protesters will be provided space near the finish line to rally but that they have agreed to not go on the course. “I am happy that we have a chance to have this dialogue,” Coleman said.

Coleman had requested the meeting after the St. Paul group indicated earlier this week that it planned to shut down the marathon near the finish line at the State Capitol to raise awareness of recent incidents involving St. Paul police and people of color. More than 11,000 participants are expected for the 26.2-mile race, which begins at 8 a.m. Sunday in downtown Minneapolis.

“Our voices are being listened to,” Turner said after the meeting.

Enough of these disruptions. So they don't like "rich white" training or the marathon. A qualifying event, by the way. Tough. People have a right to continue with their regular lives.

I was hoping that police force from all across the state would come to keep them away.

One of the BLM protesters that disrupted the Sanders campaign was apparently known to have been a tea party activist a few years ago. Anyone can claim to "represent" BLM, and all they've done so far is target our candidates. They haven't targeted any Republcans for disruption, only Democrats. What is going on with that?

cities name in and police violence. Take a look at what your cops are up to. Maybe you'd gain a friggen clue.
Nothing like a bunch of racist brutal steroid junkies beating up and killing people for peacefully protesting. Why don't you show up at one of those and cheer your terrorists in blue on? Film it and stick it on you-tube, of course it will get buried in all the truth already there.

Would he meet with other criminals?

It's extortion... Give in to our demands or something bad might happen to that nice event you have planned...

Shut down the marathon? What about the participants? What did they do to deserve it?

Think of all the bad PR that would come from this.
