Washington (AFP) - ................
The billionaire businessman, the frontrunner in the race to become the Republican party's White House nominee, has raised hackles with his controversial comments on immigration, gun control and women, among other issues.
"He knows how to get attention. He is, you know, the classic reality TV character, and at this early stage, it's not surprising that he's gotten a lot of attention," Obama said of Trump in an interview on CBS television's "60 Minutes" news program.
"I don't think he'll end up being president of the United States," Obama said in the interview, which aired on Sunday.

During a speech to Latino political leaders last week, Obama condemned the logic of "saying clearly inflammatory things and then saying, 'Well that's not what I meant' -- until you do it again and again."

(19,348 posts)Now, Jebby will have to steal the nomination of course. It's the only way he can win.
Hillary will have an easier time defeating Jebby.

(70,256 posts)want to believe that the Republicans would actually nominated one of the outsiders-donald foriena carson. I think--in the end it might be an establishment candidate. my biggest fear it will be john kalish-who passes himself off as a moderate. but he wears sheep clothes. He might be the biggest threat to Democrats. I too want a Dem to win and will vote for whoever is nominated but like you say--Hillary does have the political machinery behind her.

(4,695 posts)Reaganomics and the one that TPTB believe can still pull the Trickle-Down lie on Americans.
Adding Iran and covering up the war on women, to the mix, the results is Sander vs. Fiorina and their VP choices. We will see!

(13,133 posts)One of the basic things that i just cannot understand is when some people who think they need a leader want to believe others just because they think it will better that way. When evidence smacks a person in the face and then they say must have just a fluke or something. Well in my book it would be something different to me. It's what somebody working the psychological field would diagnose as classic conditioning. Somebody that blatantly admits to deception (lying) in mass to masses should be our leader?

To slightly inflame the real full sentence spoken.....to create that important "buzz" that gets the writer recognition....same old, same old, except now everyone is doing it.

(147 posts)He's The President of the United States. I would prefer if just referred to the GOP candidates in general as just "the opposition" it's a simple sound bite, and doesn't feed the egos of all the wannabes.
