In Iowa, Chris Christie pledges to bridge chasm with Democrats

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Robynn Tysver

COUNCIL BLUFFS — Chris Christie did something Friday that few of his fellow Republican presidential candidates ever do in Iowa: He promised to cultivate a relationship with Democrat Nancy Pelosi.

In fact, the New Jersey governor said that if he wins the White House, there would always be a seat available for the Democratic House leader on the presidential plane known as Air Force One.

In order to govern in Washington, D.C., Christie said, a president has to build working relationships with people on both sides of the political aisle — even if that means sharing a plane with a Democrat who some Republicans love to hate.

“You have to develop personal relationships with these folks. There is no other way to do it — because if there is not trust between you, there can never be an agreement because no one can make an agreement without trust,” Christie said.

FULL story at link.

if you'll pardon the expression.

Your appearing to be a McCain-esque bipartisan moderate maverick was working, but the scam blew up when you got caught dissing Democrats who wouldn't endorse you. It's too late to RE-re-brand yourself now!

Who can forget the GLOWING accounts of what a GREAT GUY President Obama was when NJ needed help after hurricane Sandy - and how Pudgy embellished that love later on. NOT!

There's only ONE Truth-spewing presidential candidate running on the people's behalf as well as on the PEOPLE'S money. And he sure to hell don't ride around in the GOP Clown Car. And when it comes to bridges, they're one of this candidate's highest priorities - fixing the ones we use every day to get where we're going. BERNIE SANDERS

He talked them into giving up cost of living increases for retirees, increasing contributions of current employees. In exchange, he was going to fund the pension programs.

The Dems bought into it.

The changes in the first part of the plan were instituted.

He defaulted on contributing to the pension plans.

There are DINO dems in Congress that would certainly be willing to work with him if it involves fucking over the environment, getting more guns into the gunstream, fucking over Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare and so forth.

Here's a man who spent most of his political life loudly FU'ing the dems (that weren't DINOs') in his state big time now wanting to work with them.

Man he's either really desperate or knows his political career (both as becoming president and another governor term) is over.
