Officer reassigned after calling Black Lives Matter protesters ‘fools’ in tweet

Source: Washington Post

A police officer in Oregon this week was taken off street duty following a social media post in which he said he would have to “babysit these fools,” in reference to an activist march scheduled for later this week.

The offending tweet, about a Black Lives Matter-Not Black Friday demonstration, was posted by officer John Hurlman, the Portland Oregonian and local broadcast outlets reported.

According to the Oregonian, Hurlman has been an officer for more than two decades.

“Black Lives Matter is planning to protest at Lloyd Center on black Friday. Oh joy, stuck late again at work to babysit these fools,” his since-removed tweet reportedly said.

Think about it. He lets his frustrations and prejudice show in one place, and he gets welcomed in to another town just down the river.

Very possibly means nothing. I can understand the frustrations, but once they forget who they are supposed to "serve and protect", it's time to move on.

Do they have any cops left? I thought that they refused to pass any tax levies and you're on your own in GP.

...who "want their country back". This is what they are asking for: The Beverly Hillbillies, Leave it to Beaver, The Nelsons, Mickey Mouse Club with Spin and Marty. They miss "the good old days" when things were simple and people had some reason to believe the USA was something "great".

Today, it's "great" with spending more on the biggest military in the world - by far; biggest disparity from the 1% and the shrinking middle class and those struggling to make a living; crumbling infrastructure and education; starved government agencies, eg IRS, INS, etc.

Going back to the days when people believed in their country and their government is what we all want; but putting forth funds and effort is something the repuKKKes have been folding up the tent to achieve.

heard only by those on the barstools next to yours, now reverberate around the world, and no longer elicit a chuckle or three, instead come full circle to bite you on your ass.

I have to admit: I never thought Twitter and the like were going to have the immediate, and long-term, impact they have fostered.

Everyone is allowed to have a opinion and that is a good thing. That is what makes America great.
