Attackers in California shooting had thousands of bullets

Source: Associated Press

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — San Bernardino gunman Syed Rizwan Farook had been in contact with known extremists on social media, a U.S. intelligence official said Thursday, and police said he and his wife had enough bullets and bombs to slaughter hundreds when they launched their deadly attack on a holiday party.

....

Two weeks ago, Farook and one of the co-workers he killed, 52-year-old Nicholas Thalasinos, had a heated conversation about Islam, according to Kuuleme Stephens, a friend of the victim's.

Stephens said she happened to call Thalasinos while he was at work and having a discussion with Farook. She said Thalasino told her that Farook "doesn't agree that Islam is not a peaceful religion."

I had wondered about this exact situation, wondering if he had been having some right-winger bad-mouthing his religion. This pretty much confirms it. It doesn't excuse it, and it's kind of confusing that he was in a way confirming the guy's opinions, but it makes a bit more sense now.

It seems to me people who were truly terrorists would normally pick on random people rather than people they know. He targeted co-workers.

Not everyone dies too early from smoking cigarettes, but how long would they live without the cigarettes?

Religion is a tool wielded by the PTB to manipulate the masses to do their bidding so the PTB can continue to exploit and plunder.

you can probably understand his anger. Nobody deserves death for being an asshole, but insulting someone's deeply held religious beliefs is never a good idea. I can understand, in a small way anyway, how the combination of co-workers, and politician's and talk radio hosts constantly calling your religion evil and demonizing all Muslims could eventually make a person blow-up. I'm not religious, but I am liberal, and when I hear right-wingers calling liberals evil, and saying liberals want to destroy America and calling Obama a Muslim communist, it really pisses me off. I can understand being driven over the top by it, even if I can't ever see myself doing what he did.

Not trying to justify or excuse it, just rationalize what happened and define for myself whether it was terrorism or personal vengeance. It seems more likely the latter to me.

I know a few very religious people, but they know I'm an atheist, so we don't discuss religion. I imagine they treat religious fanatics with another religion the same way as they treat me--sidestepping discussions of religion.

Put two religious fanatics together, and it can be like a stick of dynamite and a match. If Farook couldn't handle another religious fanatic, he shouldn't have spoken with him about religion. Plenty of assholes get us angry. Adults deal with it. Farook let his religion rule him. Religion kills.

But if you know right-wingers, you don't have to speak to them to hear them mouth-off. For all we know the guy might have been in the lunch room regaling a whole table of people about how all Muslims are murdering degenerates. He may not have deliberately stepped into a conversation so much as stood up for his own character.

I won't go as far as you though. I know a lot of very religious people who are very accepting of the idea that other people believe differently than they do and don't denigrate other peoples deeply held beliefs. There are a lot of the other kind as well though.

putting the typical white asshole racist on the hook; the facility, the location just didn't make sense.

These are facilities "I want my country back" asshholes rely on especially in that area.

Yeah, this makes much more sense.

Now we have no clue yet if this is true, but it makes sense.

Terrorists generally attack public events, not some random work party. And they don't kill people they know.

I don't this is not terrorism. It was done not to somehow promote the cause of Islam, but to get revenge on the guy who kept insulting it.

Maybe I'm 100% wrong though and they'll find something he wrote indicating he wanted to kill all infidels, but it just makes more sense to me that it's more revenge than religion.

longer than 2 weeks, so he was already planning terrorist attacks. Maybe the conversation pushed him to choose his co-workers as his first victims. (I think more attacks were planned.)

I guess the fact that these people gave him and his wife a baby shower shouldn't matter since the baby didn't matter to him, anyway.

Here is a message sent to me by the ANTISEMITIC BRAIN SURGEON Med Ali Zarouk:

"you will never sucsseed to make a country for jews , because you are criminals and cowards ,you are juste using usa and europe to fight for you , soon you ll get your ass kicked , you will die and never see israel as country believe me never "

Besides his SPARKLING SPELLING SKILLS and FLAWLESS GRAMMAR he seems to forget ISRAEL IS ALREADY A COUNTRY! He ALSO assumes I'm a JEW - a great Compliment, I should keep him around for that reason alone!

Anyway my new hobby appears to be BLOCKING PEGAN ANTISEMITIC TROGLODYTES so i'm just passing this along to warn others.
Oh - and this ISN'T the person I mentioned EARLIER. That was way WORSE

And in the Wake of the Colorado Planned Parenthood Shooting, He Called PP Employees 'Licensed Murderers'

I want to make it clear that I am not, repeat NOT, excusing his murder. I would rather have guys like Thalasino in the world than Farook. But more information is always better.
