Americans' Security Fears Stoke Gun Sales

by Martha C. White

Worries about personal safety and possible regulatory restrictions are sending gun sales and firearm manufacturers' stock prices up. Analysts say events like the terrorist attacks in Paris and last week's shootings in San Bernardino are prompting Americans — including a growing number of women — to buy more guns.

Shares of Smith & Wesson, who manufactured one of the guns used in Wednesday's attack, are up nearly 6.5 percent today ........................

This wasn't a one-day aberration: Using adjusted data from the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System, the National Shooting Sports Foundation said background checks this November rose 8 percent compared to last November.
............................

..................In fact, rifle sales actually fell 3.5 percent in November from the previous year, Ruttenbur said.

"It's primarily small, inexpensive handguns that are flying off the shelves," he said. "Handguns were up 22.5 percent for month of November, and that's the second biggest November ever," he said. ......................

The fact is, Americans are a bunch of chicken-shits who are afraid of their own shadows. They go into panic mode over anyone who is different from them. It's pathetic what this country has become.

After Obama said Americans should have a conversation about gun control at the dinner table on Thanksgiving.

I guess they did just that.

In the sprirt of "watch what you ask for" I always chuckle at this quote from Stonewall Jackson in the movie Gods and Generals:

( I am a bit of a civil war buff)

"The Lincoln Administration required us to raise three regiments.

TELL them we have done so!"

Wonder if he actually said that...

The majority are hunters and not collectors. There were a group of yahoos that tried to make an open carry statement and they were laughed out of the restaurant. Everyone and their Grandma has a gun here. No one could see the point they were trying to make. Now having blue hair and piercings might get you some attention. LOL
