WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama will look for ways to gather more intelligence and strike key Islamic State targets when he visits the Pentagon next week.
Defense Secretary Ash Carter says he believes the U.S. will be broadening its campaign and building more capabilities to fight IS in the coming weeks.

Lack of response, snappyturtle, I don't believe is indicative of your post's import... wow, there's just a whole lot of ambivalence among us Democrats right now about how to feel about Obama (Real Change, Change Has Come, etc.)
You're correct about the "MIC".

Now, the prospect of having our young women and men die - sorry, excuse me - SpecOPs/boots on the ground, is more real than ever.

Difficult to contemplate therefore, sadly I believe, a bit of cognitive dissonance among us Democrats.
