Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis after a cancer scare which fortunately turned out well for me. It is located just down the street from Planned Parenthood on Forest Park Blvd. Every time I would go by there I would see a gaggle of righteous christian jerkwads out parading in front of the PP parking lot entrance trying to intimidate clients going to the center. I really wanted to stop and give them some serious hell but figured I would probably get arrested. That is when I first started donating to PP and have been ever since. I wish I had the names of the protesters so I could write them a sarcastic thank you note for bringing their attempted intimidation to my attention. Thus they are directly responsible for my contributing to their "sworn enemies" Planned Parenthood who do so much good for so many people especially under served women.

that outraged me. I was listening to afternoon radio while I drove home. I had the radio on WGN, a big station out of Chicago. It is an AM station. I had that station on because at that time, they carried the Cubs games. I was unfamiliar with the afternoon host, and don't remember his name. He was not some screaming hater, so I left the station on.

He had a bunch of nice prizes to give to someone. A woman called in and suggested that the prizes go to her son. She thought her teenage son should get those prizes because he had organized and carried out a protest at the new Planned Parenthood clinic in Aurora IL the day it opened. He had done this on his own, with no adult assistance.

The host sent him the prizes. When I got home, I sent the host an email. It was a rather respectful email, considering how angry I was. I wondered why the host would take a political side on such an incendiary topic, why he would think this appropriate, etc. I was careful to be polite.

I received a rather nasty email in reply.

I used to drive occasionally cross country and back then as I recall that's a station that belted out a signal you could hear nearly 1,000 miles or so away during the night. It just sticks in my mind, them always identifying themselves as WGN Chicago on AM.
