Trump Supporter Yells “Light The Motherfucker On Fire” As Protester Is Dragged Away At Rally
Source: BuzzFeed
Donald Trump held a rally Monday night in Las Vegas a day before the Republican presidential candidates are set to appear on stage for the final GOP debate of the year.
During the rally, multiple protesters attempting to interrupt the candidates speech were escorted out of the Westgate Las Vegas Resort. In a video captured by BuzzFeed News senior political writer McKay Coppins, a Trump supporter can be heard yelling light the motherfucker on fire as security officers restrain a protester.

(3,233 posts)Speech that incites riots is not protected by the First Amendment:
The Incitement Test (Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969)
"The constitutional guarantees of free speech and free press do not permit a State to forbid or proscribe advocacy of the use of force or of law violation except where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action."
Check. Check.
Hey, ACLU. What are you waiting for?

Pretty clear to me.

(94,592 posts)This was private property, that Trump had rented. BLM had the right to protest outside, they didn't have the right to interrupt Trump's free speech inside his space.

If I bought a ticket to see a movie, I would effectively be "renting" property (a seat) for the duration of the movie. If, while sitting in my rented space I yell "Fire!" and start a stampede that injures/ kills people, the First Amendment will not protect me. Nor should it.

https://www.aclu.org/news/culture-war-escalates-house-considers-violence-exception-first-amendment"Rep. Henry Hyde, R-IL introduced the new measure this week as part of the ongoing debate over juvenile justice and gun control. The Hyde measure, H.R. 2036, would criminalize the exhibition, sale or loan of "sexual or violent materials" to minors.
"The ACLU said that if adopted, the Hyde legislation would ultimately fail constitutional muster. The Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that 'violent' speech can only be restricted when it is both intended and likely to incite imminent violence. To do otherwise, courts have found, would be to ban a wide range of controversial expression."

Thanks for this link. It's a real eye-opener.

(47,496 posts)validation by Fox News and right-wing talk radio has given such people a voice. In the past they would have lived in the shadows and expressed their fear and hate in whispers. People like Trump give them permission to express their anger openly and out loud.

(70,242 posts)been know to get violent. (article has a lot of detail). I would just advise any protester to be very careful.
.....The protester, Ender Austin III, spoke to BuzzFeed News after he was ejected from the rally, saying he attended with a group of friends to stand up against Trumps recent comments about Muslims.
We came to the rally tonight to make sure issues that matter to us were heard, he said.
When Austin began to shout and disrupt the candidates speech he said he was not given a verbal warning before he was physically removed.
They immediately used physical force, he said. I absolutely was being disruptive, but as I was making statements I felt hands grabbing on me.
Austin said he was placed in police custody outside of the rally, but was not arrested......

In March 1993, the Hutu Power began compiling lists of "traitors" whom they planned to kill, and it is possible that Habyarimana's name was on these lists; the CDR were publicly accusing the president of treason. The Power groups also believed that the national radio station, Radio Rwanda, had become too liberal and supportive of the opposition; they founded a new radio station, Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines (RTLMC), which broadcast racist propaganda, obscene jokes and music, becoming very popular throughout the country. One study finds that approximately 10% of the overall violence during the Rwandan genocide can be attributed to this new radio station.[86] During 1993, the hardliners imported machetes on a scale far larger than that required for agriculture, as well as other tools which could be used as weapons, such as razor blades, saws and scissors. These tools were distributed around the country, ostensibly as part of the civil defence network.
The Bushmaster .223 is the American machete.

first you build hatred
then you build tolerance to excesses of violence
then you build a system that brings 'foes' to work and 'under class'
then you change the system so they die
