Conservative radio changing its tune on Trump after ‘stupid’ remarks

Source: The Canadian Press

The Canadian Press, Published on Tue Dec 15 2015

...

Two of the biggest names in conservative talk radio ripped a strip off the Republican poll-leader for remarks he’s made over the last few days, amid a shifting dynamic in the presidential race.

<snip>

The catalyst was Trump’s decision to attack the Texas senator, whom he’d so far spared. Now with the firebrand conservative surging in Iowa, Trump doled out the same treatment he’s dished out to others.

Suddenly, he was attacking a conservative hero. Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin let him have it Monday, in on-air monologues that were either a one-off or the harbinger of a new narrative.

Levin launched into one of his characteristic shouting soliloquies while accusing the billionaire of having committed a “trifecta” of conservative sins: defending ethanol subsidies, criticizing Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and calling Cruz a “maniac” for his inability to make friends in the Senate.

I figured by now he'd only be on 100 watt AM stations.

(And isn't it fun watching the right wingers eat their own? )

Nobody from the right said word one when Trump was pushing his President
Obama birther crap.

"Trump is actually one of the forefathers of the Obama birther conspiracy. He made
headlines in 2011 after persistently demanding to see the president's birth certificate
while raising doubts over Obama's birthplace in Hawaii. Even after the White House
released an official copy of the document, Trump questioned its authenticity."

I hope it stays out of their control and comes to define them for the next generation.

Karl Rove, who served as an adviser to former President George W. Bush, warned Republicans that nominating Donald Trump could be a death wish for the party.

In a Wall Street Journal column published Friday, Rove acknowledged Trump's consistently strong standing among Republicans in the polls, and the impressively high percentage of backers -- 46 percent, according to a recent Quinnipiac poll -- who say they won't stray from Trump before the primaries.

Hitting Trump for his antics -- citing the Republican presidential candidate's beef with Fox News host Megyn Kelly and insults of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for being captured in Vietnam -- Rove lamented that there's seemingly no line Trump can cross to lose the backing of his loyal supporters, who "eat up stuff like that."

But in a matchup against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton in the general election, Rove wrote, Trump would get "creamed." He called Trump a "dream candidate" for the Democratic Party.

unintentional one with benefits. He is right about the Dream Candidate for Dems. I can just see Trump bloviating and Bernie just looking at him with a bit of dismay, ignoring him, then continuing on his same old-same-old message.

I have been thinking for months that there is no way the establishment will allow Trump to win and it would be !, but every time he goes off script he proves he is even dumber than his brother. I still think it will be, but my confidence in that has diminished significantly.

Peace

This is the Party that Nixon wanted and here it is. When Roger Ailes turned Limpdick on Trumpy, that pretty much put Medias plan in motion. There is more coming, these are just trial balloons. Still betting on Bush or a Romney draft. Noticed Paul Ryan Statement early this morning about not running with Willard in 2016. People in Utah are reading a Willard run.
