Governor's role in hotel disturbance draws national attention
Source: Santa Fe New Mexican
Gov. Susana Martinez, newly elected chairwoman of the Republican Governors Association and recently touted as a possible contender for vice president, found herself attracting a different sort of national attention Friday after the release of a recording in which she told law enforcement dispatchers that police should not investigate disturbance complaints against her group at a Santa Fe hotel.
Martinezs recorded dealings with police, dispatchers and hotel employees made her a wide target for criticism Friday. Her detractors and political enemies accused her of trying to bully other government employees to thwart an investigation.
The confrontation began about 1:30 a.m. Sunday following the governors holiday staff party in a hotel ballroom when an employee of the hotel called police to report troublesome guests partying in a room and to ask that police escort them off the property.
Theyve been warned already and theyre still not quieting down. They were told to leave and we were told to call you guys, the employee said. A dispatcher asked if the guests had weapons. I just know that they were throwing bottles off the balcony, I believe, earlier, the employee replied.

AUDIO: Governor calls 911 after hotel asks her to be escorted off property
Police were called to the Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe this weekend after a loud party. After police were called, someone who identified herself as Governor Susana Martinez demanded to know why the police were called and insisted they were just eating pizza.
NM Political Report obtained audio of three calls to police. One was from the front desk of the hotel, saying those in the room had been warned multiple times and asked for police to come and escort those in the room off the property.

(17,663 posts)She trashed the mental health system in Southern NM by pressing unfounded charges about fraud on the services here, brought in cronies from AZ, who have already left because they aren't making a buck.
Her first act was to try to stop a pollution control plan up north on the coal plants, which a judge threw back in her face.
She brought in a non-educator, a woman directly from the Bush camp, to screw up the education system.
Her Sec. of State, Duran, just got sentenced...the one with control of elections....
I hate this woman's guts. She can trot out her developmentally-challenged sister all she wants to use as a campaign prop, but she really is a piece of crap....

(22,974 posts)But what kind of ignorant dumbass throws bottles off a balcony? And the honorable Governor abused her power when she told the cops to stand down. She is clearly unfit for office higher than stenographer.
