The National Weather Service says a tornado was on the ground south of Dallas.
There were no immediate reports of damage, but National Weather Service Meteorologist Anthony Bein in Fort Worth says that the tornado was confirmed by numerous people on the ground and with video. It was located near the town of Duncanville around Interstate 20.
The tornado's trajectory was headed toward downtown Dallas but WFAA television said that it appeared to have lifted off the ground at it moved north.

(106 posts)Got in about an hour and a half ago. From west Texas and I thought I was going to see some rare winter tornadoes. We were driving 85mph in a race with the rapidly expanding wall clouds between Waco and waxahachie and the skies started turning that deadly green color and funnels were rapidly forming and drawing back up into the heavens.
Scariest drive I've done in at least a decade. Be safe out there y'all.

(160,616 posts)Nothing can creep you out like a green sky surrounding tornadoes. That would have added a little unpleasantness to your life!
Best wishes for you and everyone around.
Christmas time tornadoes. There SHOULD be a law agin' it.

(12,400 posts)and some are on FB reporting terrible conditions, difficulty reaching home, family, etc.
I tried all of the major cable news stations and the weather channel, and NONE are reporting. The weather channel isn't even breaking into their recorded film (on tornadoes!!) to give reports.
Aaarrrghhhhh!!!
