Sanders: Trump a 'pathological liar' over tax claim
Source: The Hill
By Jordain Carney
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is firing back at businessman Donald Trump after the GOP front-runner suggested Sanders wants to increase tax rates to 90 percent.
"It appears that Donald Trump, a pathological liar, simply cannot control himself. He lies, lies and lies again," Sanders, who is running for the Democratic nomination, said in a statement Wednesday. "Today, he repeated his lie that I want to raise taxes to 90 percent. Totally untrue."
Sanders's comments come after Trump told supporters at a South Carolina campaign stop that "this guy wants to raise your taxes to 90 percent" and called the Vermont senator a "total disaster."
It's not the first time Trump has made the comment about Sanders. PolitiFact previously fact checked Trump's remarks in October, rating it as "pants on fire," or false.

(1,926 posts)If you run into a Trump Supporter, be ready to claim with a straight face Trump is a liar.
Take no prisoners.
Be ready to ask them: "If you support a bald faced liar, what does that make you" and see how they react.
I am sure a stream of lies, and feces will come out of their mouths. That's how it works.

(1,926 posts)Maybe all Democrats should begin talking about Trump by starting all statements "Mr. Trump, the liar...... blah, blah, blah...."
Lying is very popular among Republican Primary Voters by they way. Haven't you noticed?

(1,926 posts)They usually say 60%. Because that is the rate in some other countries I guess? Not like Bernie ever used that number for anything.
If they can't argue facts, Republicans just simply lie.
And the media always keeps their mouths shut.
It's not their job to call lying liars liars. It's their job to steer the discussion for the sake of controversy, and to sell advertising, while never pointing out the crimes, and bad deeds of our overlords. The .01%.

(23,867 posts)I swear this has been a life long sociological wish. To see the reaction of the American voters. I don't know what will transpire. My wish is that strength in defense can have just as much attraction as a blustering Trumpasaurus.
Also I think we've come a long way from getting snagged by a silly helmet in an army tank. I saw no reason why that episode should have cost a candidate. I guess Dems have a fault. We're not blustery enough. We're not overly full of ourselves. Well hopefully. Maybe if I get therapy. Or start drinking again.

(2,496 posts)There won't be many voting period if Trump is not the nominee, but the one thing I can credit his dumb-ad-dirt supporters with, is it is a deep distrust of the political system. That is a huge part of what is driving his support.
So, I can't imagine a single one voting for Clinton, but I could see a small percentage of them voting for a non-establishment candidate like Sanders, especially if the repugs elect someone like Jeb.
