Carson campaign raises $23 million in 4th quarter
Source: Politico
Ben Carsons campaign raised around $23 million in the last three months of 2015, his campaign manager Barry Bennett said on Wednesday one-upping Ted Cruz's fourth-quarter haul of nearly $20 million.
The retired neurosurgeon's torrid fundraising pace comes amid turmoil for the Carson campaign, with the candidate speaking openly about the need to shake up his operation as his poll numbers decline.
Meanwhile, donors and longtime Carson loyalists have expressed concerns about his sky-high burn rate, which ate up more than half of what he raised in the previous fundraising cycle leaving him with just $11.5 million cash on hand after taking in more than $30 million in the first 9 months of 2015.

(2,091 posts)so much money is raised and spent on elections. That kind of money could be used in so many better ways in our country and I'm not just talking about the repukes. Let's get serious about this and do something about it. I hate that large corporations can buy their candidates while the middle class keeps shrinking. More and more people live in poverty and are belittled because they need government help just to survive. Wake up America! BTW, Go Spartans tonight and Go Bernie!!

(6,699 posts)This clown, and all the other clowns in the GOP circus, can raise and spend all they want. The way I see it, they have reached their ceiling of support, and anything else they want to waste with advertising or expenses for traveling, etc, just goes into the big US inflated economy.
If it wasn't for our weapons industry and this political circus we have to suffer through every few years, our general economy would equal that of Ecuador (no offense intended to Ecuadorians).

(16,926 posts)Two top aides to Ben Carson announced today that they are resigning from the Republican presidential candidate's campaign.
Campaign manager Barry Bennett and Communications Director Doug Watts "have resigned from the Carson campaign effective immediately."
"We respect the candidate and we have enjoyed helping him go from far back in the field to top tier status," Watts told ABC News Thursday. "Having just announced raising $23m for the 4th Q, more than any other Republican candidate, and passing 1 million contributions and and over 600k unique donors since March, we are proud of our efforts for Dr. Carson and we wish him and his campaign the best of luck."
