Senator Tweets Every Mass Shooting In America From This Past Year

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is rounding out 2015 by reminding us of all the gun violence that took place this year.

On Thursday afternoon, Murphy began tweeting out every injury and death from every mass shooting over the past year, as compiled by Shooting Tracker in conjunction with the Gun Violence Archive. Shooting Tracker defines a mass shooting as any event where at least four people are shot, not necessarily killed.

He is going through each shooting "day by day, month by month," demonstrating the sheer amount of mass shootings that have occurred in 2015.

Murphy became more vocal about gun control after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012. He has said recently that Congress is giving its "quiet endorsement" of the violence that occurs because of poor gun policy.
