The Latest: Sheriff says ranchers have turned themselves in

Source: AP

BURNS, Ore. (AP) — The latest on armed people who have taken over a federal building at an Oregon wildlife refuge (all times local):

3:30 p.m.

An Oregon sheriff says the father-and-son ranchers convicted of setting fire to federal grazing land have reported to prison.

Harney County Sheriff David Ward said Monday that Dwight Hammond and his son, Steven Hammond, turned themselves in at 1:37 p.m. and were at a federal correctional facility in California. He provided no other details.

FULL story at link.

Ammon Bundy, center, one of the sons of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, speaks with reporters during a news conference at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, near Burns, Ore. Bundy, who was involved in a 2014 standoff with the government over grazing rights, told reporters on Monday that two local ranchers who face long prison sentences for setting fire to land have been treated unfairly. The armed anti-government group took over the remote national wildlife refuge in Oregon as part of a decades-long fight over public lands in the West. (AP Photo/Rick Bowmer)

white privilege, but they are gun nuts also. I think that has to be one of the defining characteristics is the lead and gun powder "poisoning" they get all the time.

My brother in law who was saying just a couple of weeks ago that he was for Hillary because Bernie does not have a chance. He said he liked Bernie but would have to vote for Hillery. He just bought a ar-15 clone and now has a Trump sticker on his jeep.

It has to be gun powder and lead poisoning.

3. the ranchers' additional jail terms are the yeehawdists' current casus belli

this was established previously, the yeehawdists referenced it themselves.

i really don't see how the sherrif's announcement (or the AP's coverage) adds anything new to the story. this is his major contribution: "Ward urged the group to disperse peacefully."

i think what peeps out this way would like to know is "now what? what is the federal government going to do to secure its own goddam infrastructure from disgruntled militants?"

They want the benefits we all enjoy but don't want to pay for it. Selfishness.

sentence, even if they disagreed with it, it's the armed loons in the federal building that said they're prepared to stay for years.
To their credit, the Hammonds have said they want nothing to do with Bundy and his merry band of loons.
They've actually acted reasonably.
