The jailed mother of 'affluenza' teen Ethan Couch is worried sick — not just about her wayward son, but also her missing dog.

Virgil, a Saarloos Wolfdog, hasn't been seen since Couch and his mom Tonya were arrested in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on December 28, and now fears are growing about what has happened to it.

Now a relative of the Couches is offering a $1,000 reward for Virgil's return.

Misty McWilliams, who lives in Burleson, a wealthy suburb of the Couches' hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, slammed the phone down when Daily Mail Online called her to ask about her offer.

and she said she didn't have one. How did she get into Mexico - don't you need a passport these days for international travel.

You need one to get back into the US. Obviously, she wasn't planning a return.

I hope the dog has found some reasonable people there, he's very pretty. I imagine they'd just booted him out to take his own walk when the cops showed up.

Temporary residence means going to city hall and renewing your tourist visa every 6 months until you can wheedle a couple of citizens into recommending you for permanent status. There are expats who have been there 20 years, visiting city hall every 6 months, owning property and businesses there. They just haven't bothered to submit the paperwork for permanent status. As long as they pay their taxes and obey the laws, nobody seems to care, especially if they employ a few locals.
