CBS/NYT Poll: Hillary Clinton's Lead Over Bernie Sanders Shrinks

Source: CBS NEWS

CBS NEWS January 12, 2016, 6:30 PM

With less than a month to go before the first nominating contests, the national race for the Democratic nomination has tightened. Hillary Clinton continues to lead Bernie Sanders, but her lead in this national poll has shrunk since last month. Now, 48 percent of Democratic primary voters support Clinton, down four points from December, while Bernie Sanders' support has risen 9 points, from 32 percent last month to 41 percent now.

Clinton leads among women, moderates, Democrats, and voters over age 45. Sanders' support has risen notably among younger voters and liberals, and he now has a small edge among men.

Hillary Clinton does well among voters who say they always vote Democratic, the party faithful. Sanders receives strong support from independents (unchanged since last month).

in Bernie's favor. Interestingly, women for Hillary stayed at a constant 53% while women for Bernie increased from 29% to 39%. I guess we should assume the latter additions were previously for Martin or were undecided.

not over the 2000 election when people I know voted green and elected Bush. Yes, there was a difference between bush and gore. Gore always believed in Climate change and would have selected liberal Supreme Court justices. If it comes down to it, I'll vote for the least evil that can win. I cannot however see a lesser evil between hillary and bush III so I'd probably stay home if it wasn't Bernie I was voting for. That racist infantile little man tump might have made me vote for clinton but I don't believe anyone will let him win regardless.

What do you like about the TPP, wall street getting away with fraud and war, anyway?

Us liberals found a min to venture to democracynow.org and catch the daily show. Maybe thats the difference the - younger crowd are better informed because they do watch these things and the older crowd made up their mind in 1995 and ignored all of hillarys republican decisions since. That would explain the poll.

When you run on inevitability, and that turns out to be a cracked facade, people begin to question everything. The playbook for Team Sanders has been pretty reliable so far. The staff of Team Clinton might be wondering what's up with theirs.

(and I'm up to 7 states experience now) can vouch for the heavily grey slant to the folks in line. Motivation to support and motivation to vote are not always equal.
