Bundy clan leader unrepentant even as Oregon protest collapses

Source: Washington Post

BUNKERVILLE, Nevada —Two of Cliven Bundy’s sons sit in an Oregon jail, their protest over government land policies crushed by federal lawmen. Yet when the rebellion’s patriarch surveys the land around his Nevada ranch, he sees only signs of victory.

Gone now are the federal officers who used to show up at his door asking about the $2 million he owes for grazing his cattle on U.S. property. The rangers in their white pickup trucks are rarely seen since the night last summer when two government workers were chased from the area by gunfire.

“They’re leaving me alone,” the 69-year-old Bundy said on a late January afternoon as he took a break from rounding up stray livestock on a parcel of desert scrub an hour’s drive northeast of Las Vegas. “In this part of Clark County and on Bundy ranch, we say we’re the freest place on Earth.”

By outward appearances, Washington appears to have indeed given up on the fight with the man who started the protest movement that errupted in violence last week near Burns, Oregon. Some locals have taken to calling the area “Bundy-stan,” a kind of rebel enclave on taxapyer-owned land. Makeshift signs errected by Bundy’s supporters welcome visitors to enjoy “A free land, by the people.”

They could move them to Wyoming and run against Liz Cheney for that House seat.

Cliven Bundy and Dick Cheney could practice target shooting on each other while they're at it.

Because of his anger, stupidity and pig-headedness, his two sons are heading to prison and another member of his Fools Army is dead. A few more may die soon and many more will be occupying jail cells for years to come.

But, he doesn't care. As long as he doesn't have to pay his debt to his country.

His greed must be insatiable. Hope there is a plan to take this worthless piece of shriveled cowhide down.

The Burns Tantrum Ruckus has brought the old bastard back into focus. It's time for action by the Feds. Can we start a petition?

Free? I guess that's one way of characterizing refusing to pay your grazing fees for the last twenty years.

More accurately: A freeloader land, by the people.

But I can't find an answer; Do we know what companies are buying his beef? Because a boycott against any company distributing beef illegally grazed might actually hurt him.

That's what most of these old-time small ranchers do if they haven't yet contracted out their property to the huge Corps. Round-up what they can and take it to livestock auctions.
No Corp would want to buy property under 2 million in fines from the federal government. They'll just wait until eviction day and buy his property from the federal government sale when its seized. And it will be someday soon.

As long they themselves and their kids do not have to do any fighting.
Remember Romney said about his kids, they were serving America by helping him get elected.
Go Cliven join what is left of your movement in Burns. Take over from Mr. Blue Tarpman in his honor they will name a militia brigade the Blue Tarpman Brigade.

Hmmm. "By outward appearances, Washington appears to have indeed given up on the fight . . . "

If we look back a few days at the terrorist occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, it certainly appeared as though Washington had given up the fight. After all, the terrorists were driving government vehicles in and out of the refuge; visiting local stores, gas stations, restaurants; giving interviews; strutting around, brandishing their firearms.

And then, in a flash, in a few minutes, it was all over for the Bundy terrorists.

Old man Bundy had best sleep with one eye open.

The Feds favoritism emboldened these people and now there are even grandchildren involved when eviction day comes. The family will never be able to transfer any deeds.
