Watch 1,400 US workers learn their jobs are moving to Mexico

Source: Business Insider

A crowd of Carrier manufacturing workers erupted into anger Wednesday as they learned their plant was being relocated to Monterrey, Mexico.

Carrier, an Indianapolis-based heating, ventilation and air conditioning company owned by United Technologies, announced in a statement on Wednesday that the plant would undergo a three-year transition to Mexico starting in 2017.

A man identified as company president Chris Nelson was recorded on camera delivering the news to a large crowd of employees, who reacted with jeers and obscenities.

Without a Democratic president, Bill Clinton, pushing NAFTA this trade agreement would never have gotten through Congress. Without a Democratic president, Barak Obama, the TPP would be dead in the water.

I admire both Clinton and Obama for the other good things that they have done but in my opinion these trade deals have been a disaster for anyone who is not a member of the investor class.

a very profitable global conglomerate that does 40% of its business in the US and is a major DOD contractor. It is the 45th largest corporation in America with 70 thousand highly unionized and well paid US employees. I think there's some leverage there for any politician who actually gives a shit about the American working class.

public forum. Who would do that? Usually idiotic decisions like that come "announced" via the press or email to employees, or mid-level managers are left to break the bad news.

No ethics or morals on any level. "You're on your own, suckers!"
