Bill Cosby Loses Appeal

Source: Associated Press

Bill Cosby's criminal sexual-assault case appears to be headed toward an evidence hearing after a judge denied his latest effort to throw the charges out.

In a ruling Tuesday, the judge who refused to dismiss the case earlier this month denied Cosby's appeal of that decision.

The 78-year-old TV star is accused of drugging and violating an ex-Temple University employee at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004 and could get 10 years in prison if convicted. The defense insists Cosby had a promise from a previous district attorney that he would never be charged over the 2004 encounter.

Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill, though, found the evidence of such an agreement lacking after hearing from the ex-prosecutor and others at a two-day hearing. He said the issue doesn't warrant an immediate appeal that would delay the scheduled March 8 preliminary hearing.

Clinton has the advantage of being white. A black accused of a sex crime is cooked in this racist society.

I like to pretend to know what people need also-- if it better suits our biases to do as much.

Machine, and yes that includes "We must destroy her story" Hillary, did a wonderful job of using the most despicable tactics to destroy his alleged victims and their stories. Getting the media to turn on or ignore the alleged victims, getting the faux feminists to protect him or look the other way, and smearing the abused. Calling the alleged victims stalkers and bimbos, making fun of them for their "big hair", "If you drag a hundred dollar bill through a trailer park who knows what you'll get" and many more. The Clinton Machine just did a fantastic job.

Bill Cosby could sure use a team like that right now.

7. I doesn't seem right that someone could grant a criminal immunity without the victims consent.

The DA may himself choose not to prosecute for whatever reason, but not give the criminal immunity from prosecution by anyone else.

It angers and saddens me to hear that a DA would attempt to protect a serial rapist from prosecution. The victims are traumatized and degraded all over again when they attempt to pursue justice. This promise sounds like something from the middle of the last century. Why should a successful man have to face the consequences of his crimes when it was just a woman who was harmed?

... and this could be wrong.

The DA held out that deal so that Cosby's deposition would be admissible in civil court.
