Union plans contract talk with Trump Las Vegas during Donald Trump rally

Source: Review Journal

By Howard Stutz

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump may find a few unwanted observers Monday when he holds a campaign rally at South Point.

Culinary Local 226 officials said Sunday that workers from the Trump Hotel Las Vegas plan to set up "negotiating tables" in a meeting room at the south Strip hotel-casino where they hope to engage the billionaire developer and operators of the nongaming property in contract negotiations. Trump's rally, a day ahead of the Nevada GOP Caucus, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

In December, a majority of the 500-person Trump Las Vegas workforce eligible in the union's bargaining units voted to unionize with the Culinary and its affiliate, Bartenders Local 165.

The vote was certified by the National Labor Relations Board. The hotel's operators appealed the ruling, but the union leaders said Sunday an NLRB hearing officer rejected the request, following a three-week hearing, saying there was no objectionable conduct by the workers or the union.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - The Culinary Union that represents Trump Hotel employees are expected to hold a protest in front of the Las Vegas hotel Tuesday, the day of the Republican caucus.

Union leaders say management is fighting the efforts of employees to unionize. They say the company has refused to bargain with workers, instead tying up the process in a lengthy legal battle.

The union has also invited Donald Trump to meet with hotel employees while he's in town on Monday.

He is not in Nevada. He has worked as a bartender for Trump for seven years. He has never received a raise in those 7 years. He gets absolutely no benefits or sick days. As an American citizen, he is a minority at the resort where he is employed. And people think this guy is going to help the country. I have no idea why they listen to this hypocrite. My son will not vote for Trump for anything.
Good luck to the workers.
