Police: Man killed by officers shot brother-in-law in leg

Updated 3:44 pm, Sunday, February 21, 2016

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — A man fatally shot by Anaheim officers had fired at two people before wounding his brother-in-law and firing a round at a police helicopter, a police spokesman said Sunday.

The man, who has not yet been identified by police, drove to his estranged wife's house Saturday after firing at and missing two strangers, said Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt. Once at his wife's house, he confronted his brother-in-law and a fight between the two men moved to the street, where the suspect shot the brother-in-law in the leg, Wyatt said.

The suspect then fired one round at a police helicopter that had been following him, Wyatt said.

Three officers on the ground then opened fire after the man failed to comply with their orders, he said.

his brother-in-law, even though he shot him. The problem is the BIL didn't have a gun. Or didn't use one. If everyone shot at everyone else, everyone would be protected. That's how the NRA explains protection.

back in the old west to make people leave their guns at the sheriffs office? Couldn't be that they got drunk and often shot each other and innocent by-standers was it or maybe they were just smarter than we are and knew that armed people tend to settle their differences in a more lethal fashion!

BTW, I firmly believe an armed society is an arrogant society, "betcha mines bigger than yours"...
