Body parts suspect Luka Magnotta arrested in Germany

Source: CBC

Canadian murder suspect Luka Rocco Magnotta has been arrested in Berlin.

Magnotta is wanted by Montreal authorities on first-degree murder and other charges, including threatening Canadian politicians.

He is suspected of killing Jun Lin – a 33-year-old Chinese university student with whom he had a relationship – and filming the attack and mailing the victim's dismembered body parts to Canadian political parties.

German police spokesman Thomas Neuendorf told CBC News that Berlin authorities have arrested Magnotta.

he's fucking stupid. He kept his cell phone and was online with it when they pinned down his location. So much for his 'how to disappear' manifesto. Waste of skin, that one.

So he can have a high-profile public trial and let the world know how much of a badass he thinks he is...

Here he is in France, phone in ear...Can we finally dispel the notion that this post 9-11 airport security is a total joke??

Or are you suggesting that every passenger gets a criminal background check before being allowed on a plane?

You know, where they check your passport and stamp it? You would think there is an international WANTED list.

The "list" (many, actually) tries to keep up with legal (and illegal) aliases, but it fails, as it always will.

They don't exactly do retinal, fingerprint, and DNA tests to get on a plane.

Magnotta arrived at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on May 26 and was later identified on surveillance cameras, according to Le Figaro. He was apparently put up for one night by a man who later contacted authorities after realizing who his guest had been.

It is easier to become anonymous.

Try that in a small town or rural area.

Pretty stupid to use his cellphone. But good job by the German police nevertheless, glad they have him.

He had to flag down a second police officer because the first one gave him the brush off.
