Sanders raises over $5.7m in one day

Source: The Guardian

Bernie Sanders raised over $5.7 million for his campaign today, in a final big fundraising push before tomorrow’s Super Tuesday primaries.

Earlier today his campaign emailed supporters saying the Vermont senator had $36.1 million from 1.2 million people this month and they were pushing to rise that total to $40 million by the end of the day.

Now the Sanders’ campaign sits at $41.8 million in contributions for February.

That’s double the $20 million in contributions from Sanders supporters in January.

It comes from contributors. And supporters. So far the voters aren't materializing in sufficient numbers.

I love Bernie and am not a big Hillary fan but I'm in the "can't win" side of the ledger. I know all the counterarguments, I've dwelled over them. Either way lies risk. We shall see but I'd vote for either in the general and am likely to vote Bernie in my primary (which Hillary will win easily however, why I feel ok doing this) to continue to assert Bernie's message and hold Clinton to her leftward lurch.

Believe me in my perfect universe Bernie destroys Trump. But I started off in politics tagging alongside my parents as they canvassed for McGovern. My cynicism is hard won.

If she gets the nomination, the Republicans, a lot of Democrats, and a lot of Progressives will sink her like a stone.

Times have changed. The worm has turned.

staunch Clinton supporters would deny that she has the backing of the entire Democratic establishment and institutional machinery, including media (Networks, MSNBC, Boston Globe, etc, etc)

Any negative coverage of Hillary sure hasn't come from the major media outlets, unless it was self inflicted.

No point leaving it for the DNC to seize it and hand to the Hillary campaign if he doesn't get the nomination.

If it isn't spent by the end of the campaign, Sanders still gets to decide what happens to it. He can give it to the DNC if he wants. He can save it for future campaigns if he wants. He can give it to other campaigns if he wants. Or he can donate it to charity if he wants.
