Cruz to Trump: ‘Donald, you’re a sniveling coward. Leave Heidi the hell alone.’
Source: Washington Post
DANE, Wis. Donald Trumps ability to roil the presidential race with a few swipes of a smartphone was revealed again in Wisconsin. Before a visit to a factory, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) the only Republican currently stumping here had to field questions about the weeks second late-night Trump tweet that mocked the senators wife, Heidi.
Our spouses and our children are off bounds, Cruz said. It is not acceptable for a big, loud New York bully to attack my wife. It is not acceptable for him to make insults, to send nasty tweets and I dont know what he does late at night, but he tends to do these at about 11:30 at night, I assume when his fear is at the highest point.
The source of Cruzs ire seemed, as has become Trumps habit, petty and puerile. Trump, who has no public appearances scheduled until a March 29 rally in nearby Janesville, was angered by a Web ad from the tiny Make America Awesome PAC, allegedly targeted at Mormon voters, that displayed a salacious photo of the moguls wife, Melania, from a magazine shoot and warned that she could become first lady unless Utahans caucused for Cruz.
The PAC has no relationship to Cruz, but on Tuesday night, Trump warned that he would spill the beans about Heidi Cruz; on Wednesday night he retweeted someone who compared an unflattering photo of Mrs. Cruz to a glamorous one of Mrs. Trump.

Interesting that the article fails to mention that Ted Cruz's wife is a Goldman Sach's executive and that he secured a $1 million loan from Goldman Sachs to kick start his Senate career, so the activities of Ted's wife seem far more relevant than pictures of Trump's wife. I doubt that Ted would have misgivings about going after Bill Clinton if Hillary was the nominee.

(5,562 posts)Didn't that idiot Cruz start this round himself by sending out suggestive photos of Trump's wife in order to shock Mormon women in Utah?
This is absolutely the weirdest, most disturbing election I have ever witnessed.
It was a pac that sent out the photos. And no one coerced Trump's wife into posing. She is what she is.

(17,390 posts)Yup, Ted Cruz has no connection to these SuperPACs...

As Ted Cruz insists he can still overtake GOP front-runner Donald Trump and win the Republican nomination outright, the Texas Senator has an innovative and well-funded alliance of superPACs supporting his effort.
The 2016 campaign has not been kind to presidential superPACs. The ostensibly independent committees help presidential candidates at arm's length and with no fundraising limits failed to help Republican hopeful Marco Rubio. And the superPAC backing former Florida Governor Jeb Bush spent more than $100 million, but couldn't get the one-time frontrunner past the first round of states.

Kellyanne Conway, a Republican pollster who runs Keep The Promise I, paraphrased donors' reactions: "Well, you have all these pro-Cruz superPACs, which one should I give to? Do the ones that are run by wealthy families even need my money? Which one is doing radio? Who's doing digital? Who's doing TV? "
To end the confusion, most of the superPACs now have consolidated under Trusted Leadership (emphasis on -ted), which itself is a superPAC. Conway heads up that one as well.

(17,390 posts)Snivel to means to: (1) to weep or cry with sniffling; and (2) to affect a tearful state; whine. It seems more like Ted Cruz is sniveling with his "Leave Heidi Cruz The Hell Alone," which is somewhat hypocritical given that his wife is an investment banker at Goldman Sachs, which gave Ted Cruz a huge loan to start his political career.
Now, if Ted Cruz called Trump a racist blowhard, then that would be more on point.

Otherwise, tear each other apart, you loathsome narcissists. Both your wives have poisoned souls; they married you.

(2,013 posts)money in politics, then guess what? You're letting that Super PAC speak for you. They can't have it both ways. I'm perfectly comfortable attributing something an Anti-Trump Super PAC says to Cruz directly. If they don't like it, work to strike down Citizen's United. Until then, reap what you sow.

(11,936 posts)But if Cruz didn't have anything to do with it, he didn't and until someone can prove he did, then saying he started it is a LIE. I care about being honest when discussing a topic.
