Teen pepper-sprayed as Trump protesters, supporters clash

Source: Washington Post

JANESVILLE, Wis. — Police are looking for a man who pepper-sprayed a 15-year-old girl as opponents and supporters of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump clashed outside a Wisconsin rally.

The altercation is the latest in a series of confrontations that have marred recent Trump events.

Investigators have photos taken by participants at Tuesday’s demonstration outside of the Holiday Inn Express that could help to identify the man with the pepper spray, Janesville Police Sgt. Aaron Ellis said Wednesday.

Ellis said the girl told police she punched a man who groped her, and another man then pepper-sprayed her. The girl and a 19-year-old woman standing next to her were treated and released from a hospital, police said.

He maliciously sprayed the girl, smiled, then scurried away like a rat with a light turned on. He needs to be found and charged for this assault. See how he likes it when the big bubbas go after him.

man. At most he inadvertantly touched her with the piece of paper he was holding. Witnesses said he didn't touch her. If so, she should be charged with assault for punching an old man and for filing a false police report.

The young woman was wrong to hit the guy, no doubt.
But what the guy in the red hat did was out and out assault. He had not been touched by the girl, was not involved in the altercation, slid into place with a motive, waiting for his moment, then pepper sprayed the girl, then like a mouse slipped way so as not to be caught. He did what he did with intent.
The girl was reacting in the heat of the moment, no doubt to some rude remark. The guy in the red hat was just being an out and out coward and criminal.

accusation of sexual assault in Wisconsin is a felony. The pepper sprayer is certainly a coward. I hope they find him.

try to excuse her punching him then that is beyond reprehensible. Falsely accusing an elderly man of groping a fifteen year old girl can absolutely ruin the elderly man's life. If that is what happened I hope the girl is punished severely.

Janesville police have asked for public help to identify a man suspected of pepper-spraying a protester outside Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump's Tuesday campaign rally.

Police released two photos Wednesday of a young man wearing glasses and a hat featuring the candidate's signature "Make America Great Again" slogan. Janesville police detective Chris Buescher said the man is suspected of using pepper spray on a 15-year-old girl after she punched another man during an argument.

The altercation was one of a few tense moments between the estimated 2,000 supporters and opponents of Trump who were attending the rally at the Janesville Conference Center at the Holiday Inn Express.

The girl and another 19-year-old woman from Madison also hit by the pepper spray were treated at local hospitals. The State Journal was not able to get their names Tuesday.

She punched someone first. If you act with intent to harm, don't be surprised when someone retaliates, or in this case, pepper sprays you.
