No charges for Minneapolis officers in Jamar Clark death, prosecutor says

Source: CNN

Minneapolis police Officers Mike Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze will not face charges in the November shooting death of 24-year-old Jamar Clark, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said Wednesday.

Schwarze shot Clark only after Ringgenberg scuffled with Clark, during which time Clark took control of Ringgenberg's gun and Ringgenberg told Schwarze to open fire, the prosecutor said.

Investigators concluded that the officers acted in self-defense, he said.

Authorities have said that Clark, who was unarmed, was interfering with a woman's medical care when Ringgenberg and Schwarze tried to arrest him.

We sure heard a lot about how Jamar Clark kept telling people he wanted to die. Sounded a lot more like a mental health crisis than a situation that required self-defense.

nobody was at fault.

I remember this case more because of what the cops did after than the actual shooting

Those are largely ignored except by the politically astute who have skin in the game. Demi need to spend some huge money in defeating GOP governors for a start.

They support tough laws that make felons out of millions and incarcerate them so the Prisons For Profits will make profits from our resources. And we have a great opportunity to begin this change with Sen Sanders. Clinton is part of the Establishment that supports this culture. Amassing a huge fortune and helping her corporate friends is number one on her list of goals.

Support change, support Sanders.

The one from Rules of Engagement where Sisko said, "We don't put civilians at risk or even potentially at risk to save ourselves. Sometimes that means we lose the battle and sometimes our lives. But if you can't make that choice, then you can't wear that uniform."

I'm not saying that police should not defend themselves, but police are often way too willing to shoot first and ask questions later.

some tough calls like when he scattered trilithium resin on Solosos III rendering the planet uninhabitable for humans for the next 50 years in order to force Eddington to turn himself in and that impacted alot of innocents.

At times you'd have the character of Sisko acting out based on ethics.

In other episodes the ethics were thrown to the wind for "We are at war!"

There were probably days off for the war writers where those who wanted to voice the ethics of Trek came in to provide.

Most of them live outside the city and don't give a shit about anyone in the city. There used to be a rule that MPD had to live within the city limits. Now they all (most?) live in the ex-urbs.
