At least 10 schools get bomb threats Monday morning

BOSTON —Massachusetts State Police, K-9 units and bomb teams, along with local police and fire departments, are investigating bomb threats to at least 10 schools Monday morning.

Bomb threats were confirmed by officials in Ayer, Brighton, Brookline, Charlestown, Hopkinton, Hudson, Leominster, Marlborough, Medway, Stoneham, Tewksbury and at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School.

State police said some of the threats were made via robocalls.

My kid was in one of the schools, back to class already. Principal indicated that almost twenty schools got these calls today in MA. We had a similar spike in January.

my thoughts were that threatened violence and actual violence of this type occurs a lot in April. The prevailing theory is Hitler's birthday.

Speculation included the possibility that someone or group was probing school and/or police response tactics.

Helicopters hovered overhead for hours.

Unnerving to say the least.

My daughter just text once in awhile that they were still waiting while the building was being checked. I just kept working since that's what I had to do.

I can't remember a time when any of these bomb calls were actually true and on a scale necessary to do any damage.
