Joe Biden: I’d Like to See a Woman Elected President

Source: Time

Vice President Joe Biden hasn’t endorsed a candidate in this fall’s presidential election, but he said in a new interview that he “would like to see a woman elected.”

“This country is ready for a woman,” Biden said when asked in an interview with Mic about whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is being held to a higher standard on the campaign trail. “There’s no problem. We’re going to be able to elect a woman in this country.”

When the reporter pressed and asked the Vice President whether he would personally like to see a woman elected, he responded that he did. Though Biden’s staff appeared to try cutting off the interview after that question, the Vice President continued.

“The President and I are not going to endorse because we both when we ran said, ‘Let the party decide,'” Biden added. “But gosh almighty, Hillary Clinton is overwhelmingly qualified to be President.”

I'd like to see a woman elected president too. It doesn't imply anything about which one. Not Sara Palin right?

Yeah Biden probably prefers Hillary, but officially he's trying to be neutral. Like they did with president Obama, the media exaggerate their statements and spin to make it look like an endorsement.

He actually went out of his way to defend Bernie and be neutral. The headline writers are choosing to frame it a certain way beause they personally like Hillary better.

"Look, they're both totally qualified to be president. They both get in a fight. Campaigns do this. It's like saying, you know, 'She's dead wrong' or her saying, 'He's dead wrong' on an issue," the vice president said.

Meanwhile, Biden noted, Sanders did not say Clinton is "not qualified because she's a woman."

The WH already asserted her qualifications, some elected Democrats did too and now you can add Biden to the list. Maybe next time Sanders will be a bit more careful before he calls Hillary unqualified based on an erroneous WAPO headline. What was his response when he was questioned as to the reason he called her not qualified? "She started it". Is this a presidential campaign or a kindergarten fight between two 5 year olds?

It was actually the first thing that popped into my head when I read the title of the OP.
I've never been a fan of Joe due to a combination of his treatment of Anita Hill and his loyalty to MBNA and the bankruptcy bill.

For many reasons, I cannot support Hillary. If Elizabeth Warren was a choice, I'd be in the streets with banners flying.

Our hope now for any change is to support Bernie Sanders. If not Bernie, then we will see years of the same old baloney.
May I tell you how sick I am of the same old self interest of the Hillary campaign? We need to change direction and I feel Bernie is our only hope.

This old timer is concerned about our future as a country. I see nothing new with the Clinton campaign. Things are bad now for so many. I see nothing new presented by Hillary and her minions. We cannot afford to continue the status quo.
