No suspicion of suicide, foul play in Prince's death: sheriff
Source: AFP
Chanhassen (United States) (AFP) - There was no evidence of trauma on Prince's body when he was found unresponsive at his Minnesota compound, and his death is not thought to be a suicide, authorities said Friday.
"We have no reason to believe at this point that this was a suicide," Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson told a news conference a day after the star's death. "There were no obvious signs of trauma on the body at all."

(135,425 posts)Maybe I am hearing the reports in a chopped up way, but it sounded like he was all alone, that people were calling him, that he did not answer, so they went over and found him in the elevator.
You'd think, after that medical scare and the ostensible NARCAN dose, that someone would INSIST that he have a friend or servant by his side.
I don't know--maybe he was insistent, and wanted to be alone, but there are times when you just tell someone "Too bad--you're not well enough to be left alone."
You'd also think that he'd be warned about those effects you noted, and want someone nearby, just in case...?
I am guessing there is a lot we don't know, here.

(14,807 posts)was not unusual. Imagine that people did what he wanted. Imagine it is difficult to know who your friends are when one's life is so complex, big and you are not one who confides normally.
I agree there is most likely a lot more to the story. Family will decide how much we get to know. He was cremated and they had ceremony already. Many of my musician friends/acquaintances are silent so most likely there. Secret burial place also so no Jim Morrison grave dancing.
There is so much I can say on all of this...his weight, his age, his underlying health issues, his not being in a relationship for a long time, being on pain killers for perhaps too long, etc etc.....the person who dropped him off at 8 pm that night before.....sigh. Sad.

(1,000 posts)I just watched Dr. Cyril Weight (sp?) on MSNBC. He jumped straight to a drug overdose without knowing anything other than what we all know.
It could just as easily be a heart attach or an aneurism. The point is we don't know and I think it is lazy and offensive to immediately imply drugs are involved.
Many people use percoset and do not overdose.
Hope we can just chill and play some Prince music and enjoy what he left us.
Why does the media jump to speculation so quickly? Right now, I'm focused on and adjusting to the fact that he is gone. My mind is occupied remembrances and appreciation for his music. I'm not ready to process all the questions being raised.

(15,719 posts)can be seen in recent photographs. He may have simply not realized how much he had taken with the flu and the pain. It is very easy to over dose yourself when you are sick. When he was on the jet, people around him could see that he had taken an extra dose and landed the jet. But if no one is observing you, you can be in a to of trouble really quick.

Don't confuse me with facts???? Let me make wild guesses and pas them off as gossip.
We're better than that, aren't we???
