Billionaire green donor launches U.S. millennial voter drive
Source: Reuters
Billionaire environmental activist Tom Steyer's super PAC launched a $25 million youth voter drive on Monday in seven political battleground states to help elect candidates that champion climate change policies in November's general election.
Steyer's NextGen Climate super PAC, a political group that raises funds to boost candidates with strong environmental platforms, said the campaign aims to boost turnout of millennials, who have become one of the largest potential voter groups.
In the lead-up to the November general election, NextGen will deploy hundreds of organizers across over 200 colleges to register young voters and facilitate on-campus voting.

I'll take it for sure...but doing this a year ago would have brought in more voters for Bernie.

(57,936 posts)We need to get millennials out now to vote for Bernie.
Bernie knows how our Congress works Been in both houses, first the House then the Senate since 1992. I repeat that. Since 1992. Continuously with no breaks.
Bernie served on the Veterans' Committee. We all know that.
But did you know that in the House Bernie served on the Banking Committee and that William K. Black, the guy that threw the S&L cheats in jail and cleaned up the S&Ls and Galbraith are two of Bernie's advisors. They will make sure that he really does break up the banks and legally.
And do you know that Bernie has served on the Budget Committee. He knows where the money is wasted. If you want a president who will cut the waste out of our government, vote for Bernie. He knows where the waste is and how to get rid of it. He knows the members of Congress.
The last time we had a current member of Congress in the White House was, I believe, Lyndon Johnson. And if you don't include the Viet Nam War, he did a lot of good for our country including signing Medicare and the Civil Rights Acts.
Vote for the person who understands the system and knows where the money is hiding.
Vote for Bernie.
No point in getting out the vote for any other candidate for president. Because no one else really understands how to work in Congress. And that is where the laws are decided.

You're republican narrative about Senator Sanders, might work for you, but it's factually INCORRECT. Get it straight.
Edit to add: Hell will freeze before I vote for a candidate bought off by big oil. Just saying.....

The only thing I'm positive Bernie Sanders cares about is Bernie Sanders. Everything and everyone else gets help from him if it benefits him.

No, there are a lot of offices, a lot of senators and representatives at the federal and state level. It's not just all about the One Man. and about "the race." There are many races.
Either (D) would be better for the (E) than either (R), I think would be a perfectly reasonable argument. But it would require looking past the One Man or the One Woman and having a long view--which in this case means "5 months". (I seldom think of 5 months as the long view unless I'm pondering what's for dinner. Today. Then again, I'm over 50. For those under 20, the "long view" typically means "not this weekend, but next week", and truly long term planning is buying your ticket for the May prom in March.)

Stop twisting my words, no one said he's the only one who will do anything, I said there is only 1 candidate running for POTUS who cares about the environment. Do you have problems with comprehension?
