The man known only as Individual A has filed a lawsuit alleging former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert still owes him $1.8 million as part of an agreement to hide sexual abuse from decades ago when Hastert was Yorkville High School's wresting coach.

The suit, filed Monday in Kendall County Circuit Court, comes two days before Hastert is scheduled to be sentenced in U.S. District Court on hush money charges.

It was revealed in a court filing last week that an attorney for Individual A sent a letter in January threatening legal action if Hastert did not pay the remaining amount of their $3.5 million agreement.

The lawsuit alleges Individual A "suffered severe panic attacks," which led to periods of unemployment, bouts of depression and hospitalization.

Apparently hush money is not blackmail. The victim would have to threaten to release information. truthisfreedom Apr 2016 #13

how did Individual A dispense with the $1.7 million in cash?

He couldn't just go to a bank and deposit it, and he could hardly
spend it, that's a lot of $50s

Here's a young boy sexually interfered with by a grown man, his wrestling coach for Pete's sake, and whose life has been maimed as a result.

Who cares what happened to the money Hastert gave him. I'm sure the IRS and FBI are looking into it already. Meanwhile, what about the victim(s)? How many others were harmed by this "good man"?

I knew of one kid who was sexually abused by his music teacher back in the late 50's. When the story came out his family ended up having to move out of our area and put him in a whole different school. Blaming the victim has always been the status quo. At least boys who are abused are not as likely to be then murdered by forces in their society or their own families, as girls are in many places in the world.

Screw the money. Hastert should be in jail.

The bank would file a report, but as long as he has a reason for possessing it its not a problem.

Paying such sums is not something done voluntarily

But it must be said, how would he have exposed him

when no one would listen? Who would have believed him?

Probably each victim did not know there were other victims
who might corroborate their story, so they stood in isolation
