Trump’s relationship with RNC sours

Source: Politico

Donald Trump is relying heavily on the Republican Party to bolster his skeletal operation, but his campaign’s relationship with the Republican National Committee is increasingly plagued by distrust, power struggles and strategic differences, according to sources in both camps.

In recent days, RNC chairman Reince Priebus has privately grumbled that his advice doesn’t seem welcome with Trump, according to one RNC insider. Other party officials have expressed frustration that Trump’s campaign is trying to take too much control over a pair of fundraising committees with the party while adding little to the effort, according to campaign and party officials familiar with the relationship.

While Trump had promised Priebus that he would call two dozen top GOP donors, when RNC chief of staff Katie Walsh recently presented Trump with a list of more than 20 donors, he called only three before stopping, according to two sources familiar with the situation. It’s unclear whether he resumed the donor calls later.

Meanwhile, there’s deep skepticism on Trump’s campaign about the RNC’s commitment to the presumptive GOP nominee, with some campaign officials questioning how hard the RNC is working to help Trump and to raise money for his campaign’s joint committees with the party.

Why did he keep refusing the speakership and finally relent? Cuz they promised him a general election candidacy without the mess of a primary.

Just guessing. Could be JEB, too. Everyone hates him, but it seems candidates that people hate don't matter in this election.

From http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2016/mar/29/5-questions-you-have-about-delegates-answered/

there’s the 112 members of the rules committee. They determine convention guidelines, and they have the power to change rules at the convention. In theory, they could release all the delegates before the first ballot. One delegate has already argued for that in a letter to the party, though it seems an unlikely scenario.

and although it's a terrible source, just to see another perspective, you can also see https://www.facebook.com/notes/the-conservative-minuteman/delegates-may-not-have-to-vote-for-trump-on-the-first-ballot/1689505051274319/

And that's the Rules Committee at the RNC. During the Convention, the Rules Committee meets and decides what the Convention rules are for nominations. For instance, they can make a rule that allows for pledged delegates to move to other candidates on the first ballot.

He genuinely did not.want.speaker because.he.wanted potus, and had to be arm twisted into speaker.

Which is why there is no chance.he would take the nomination this year, he would.have almost no.chance to win and.will be associated with the whole.cluster.ruck.

He will sit on the sidelines and not get tainted by the trainwreck, and be.the.wholly unified party candidate in 2020.

The oligarchy has achieved political access and influence beyond their wildest dreams. If their greed does not exceed their judgment, they should be content with the status quo. They can live with an obstructionist House to do their bidding for now and restructure the Republican Party to better serve their desires at their leisure.

from now.
All of us can imagine that Trump and his team are and will be really hard to work with.
They believe that they have reinvented the wheel.

In truth, they just got lucky because of the huge number of potential nominees, and because of Trump's brazenness in taking full advantage of media attention, when in truth, he had nothing of substance to say.

If the RNC does kick Trump out, they will certainly bankroll their convention choice to the hilt.
