Clinton questioned by FBI as part of email probe
Source: CNN
Washington (CNN)Hillary Clinton met with the FBI on Saturday as part of the investigation into her use of a private email server while leading the State Department, her campaign said.
"Secretary Clinton gave a voluntary interview this morning about her email arrangements while she was secretary," Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said in a statement. "She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion. Out of respect for the investigative process, she will not comment further on her interview."
An aide said the interview occurred at FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., Saturday morning and lasted approximately three and a half hours.
The news of FBI agents interviewing the former secretary of state will heighten anxiety among Democrats that their nominee could be indicted before November and serve as a reminder of Clinton's negatives to voters already skeptical of her trustworthiness.

Sorry for flopping back and forth between CNN and AP, but CNN now has the most details of the interview this morning.
They're speculating that the investigation should be wrapped up very shortly - Clinton was expected to be the last to be interviewed. That has now happened.

I'm so happy this will be wrapping up. It's going to be a riot watching the media walk back all the conspiracy theories they've allowed to be floated.

(14,881 posts)or any time soon.
The media has reported all along that after her interview, the FBI will review her answers and compare it with other evidence before making their report and any recommendations.

As many of us have said all along to those praying for an indictment, it is now over.
There will be no indictment.
Guess Sanders can concede now.

(14,881 posts)The FBI and Justice career lawyers are now reviewing the interview against the email evidence and statements made by other witnesses, both to them and to the JW lawyers in the civil suits, starting with Pagliani.
After they finish their review, they will make their report and any recommendations.
And I have no idea what a "ferry" has to do with any of this

(53,919 posts)And btw, as a Democrat, why wouldn't you want it to be over?
It's just another ginned-up, repug non-scandal to take down the Clintons once and for all like Whitewater, Travelgate, Vince Foster's "murder" Benghazi and on and on and on.
We don't need to be carrying water for the repugs.

It's over now. They can put away their prayer beads, and Sanders can now concede.

"My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over. Our Constitution works; our great Republic is a government of laws and not of men. Here the people rule. But there is a higher Power, by whatever name we honor Him, who ordains not only righteousness but love, not only justice but mercy."

(43,342 posts)the choice of words indicates some degree of confidence. If they thought
otherwise they surely must know that characterizing it as such would not
make it go away.
The investigation is supposed to be non-political. It would be nice if it
were wrapped up and not be allowed to fester during an election like
a knife waiting to fall. That would not be non-political.

Is this CNN spewing this crap??
Words matter - heightened anxiety BS - indicted before Nov??? more BS serve as a reminder of Clintons trustworthiness?? BS - you say it enough times, some nut will believe it..like my hubby was discussing last night...will someone please explain what the eff they mean by not being trustworthy - would it be ALL the republiklans messages for so many years....how long have they dogged her..20+ years??
Comey investigated Whitewater..his history is justification HE should recuse himself..IMHO....just becz he told ASHCROFT, lying in a hospital bed, there shouldn't be warrantless wiretapping..as GWB and Co. had so wanted to do..that makes him an unbiased?? - BS investigator???
Even that Ken Starr has regrets when it comes to his impeachment of Bill during the nineties...

(9,043 posts)Even if the FBI were to come out and say "We found no illegality, no nothing," we are going to keep hearing about this from rightwingnuts until the next century. That's just what they do. Even if the FBI says she's totally clean, you will hear RW'ers throw in Hillary's email problems from now on. They just pile shit onto shit onto more shit. People tend to believe stuff they hear over and over and over. It sucks.
