WASHINGTON (AP) -- Attorney General Loretta Lynch says the Hillary Clinton email investigation is being closed without any criminal charges.

Lynch announced the Justice Department decision Wednesday, one day after FBI Director James Comey recommended against any prosecution.

The decision was largely a formality given Comey's public statement on the case.

Lynch said last week that she intended to accept whatever recommendations and findings were presented by the FBI and by her career prosecutors.

(CNN) -- Attorney General Loretta Lynch made it official Wednesday: Hillary Clinton will not be charged for using a personal email server during her tenure as secretary of state. "Late this afternoon, I met with FBI Director James Comey and career prosecutors and agents who conducted the investigation of Secretary Hillary Clinton's use of a personal email system during her time as secretary of state," Lynch said in a statement. "I received and accepted their unanimous recommendation that the thorough, year-long investigation be closed and that no charges be brought against any individuals within the scope of the investigation," she said.

...thus giving his republican friends a morsel of ammunition to use against her and also paint her as "careless" and "sloppy."

There are only the two types of argumentation, legal and moral. And republicans just switch from one to the other when necessary. Remember Bill's impeachment? Not convicted legally, but morally condemned by repukes for decades now.

Repukes have nothing to offer the country, so they rely on faux moral outrage and accusations of criminality. That's all they've got.

Comey offered to investigate if Congress brought an official request of inquiry to the FBI. Gee isn't that CONVENIENT for Comey, the FBI and the GOP. What are the usual charges that sink officials involved in these kind of scandal/investigations.....perjury. The GOP is NOW trying to get Hillary on willfully lying to Congress under oath and the FBI get another crack at her.

...and "pundits" hadn't been such assholes about Bill Clinton meeting with Lynch, she would have had a little wiggle room and been able to make some qualifying comments (like Comey did yesterday), but since they basically forced Lynch to say in advance that she'd accept the FBI recommendation, she didn't have to worry about being accused of being biased or have to comment AT ALL!

after all of these investigations, including by a republican-led FBI, they have nothing.

Republican James Comey even tried to deliver his party a wet kiss with his outrageous innuendo at the press conference yesterday. And that backfired.
