(82,383 posts)I think we could make a good argument that our tax dollars to pay for the military are making us quarter soldiers. A fun way to point out to the idiots that the 2nd, like the 3rd, is 18th century reality only.

(18,636 posts)Considering the area around The Agora it was likely just another big city violent crime.
It used to be nice there but now is mostly tattoo shops and empty storefronts. Still, I never felt unsafe when I went to concerts there.
The victims probably know why it happened.

(18,636 posts)There was a long time that the neighbors complained and police harassed concertgoers on their way in and out, even making arrests in the parking lot. It's a wonderful place for acoustics and I'm glad to hear the community has backed off for now. I've seen a lot of great bands there in the past 40 years but spent nearly as much in fines as I have in tickets.
That's nearer Akron though. In downtown Cleveland I always loved Wilberts. It's a small club near the ball park that features roots rock and blues acts either on their way up the ladder or back in the van. From the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Savoy Brown to Johnny Lang and Lonnie Mack, they've all set up in the dusty corner of Wilberts. During their heyday the place was on W6th heading into The Flats, but the place still rocks at the current location:
