Debbie Wasserman Schultz Out As Democratic Convention Chair After Email Leak

Source: NPR

Amid furor over an email leak that revealed a bias against Bernie Sanders inside the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz is out as chair of the convention.

In an email to NPR, the office of Rep. Marcia Fudge said she "has been named permanent chair of the Democratic National Convention."

Sen. Bernie Sanders featured heavily in the hacked Democratic National Committee emails released by WikiLeaks Friday.

The emails, which were released by WikiLeaks just days before the party's convention launches in Philadelphia, appear to show top DNC officials trading ideas on how to hurt Sanders at the polls.

In one email out of the 20,000 leaked, the committee's Chief Financial Officer Brad Marshall appears to float an idea to question Sanders' Jewish faith.

Someone who used their power to tamper with true democracy and the people that think she should be punished are the ones on the side of facists and dictators.

I'm not even saying that Bernie would have won if DWS and her cronies had kept their hands off the scale. But it just feeds in to one of the many aspects of the HRC candidacy that people really do have legitimate gripes with (being the epitome of the "establishment" that people are tired of and who use their power to subvert democracy).

What matters is that what she did altered the Democratic process. Next primary season it could've been your candidate who she didn't like. The DNC chair is not supposed to make those decisions - we voters are.

just kind of did a scan read of what was being said. However, I have said previously that the DNC in 2008 made a pact with Hillary that if she stepped aside from trying to gather delegate votes for the nomination that in 2016 if she came back she would have the full backing of the DNC. I think the DNC did not think that there would be a strong candidate against her, and when one emerged they did what they needed to do, to keep their promise.

Your insistence on absolutism doesn't reflect reality. There are all kinds of people who are Democrats who will be in Philadelphia. Some of them feel as strongly as you do about Hillary. Some of them do not. That does not mean they wish her to fail, nor does it mean they desire a GOP presidency.

The same can be said for DU. Some of us have reservations about HRC and the conditions and associations of her Campaign. That does not mean we are not Democrats, nor does it mean that all of us wish her to fail, nor does it mean your insult has basis.

I hear your anger and your apparent desire for ideological purity. I suggest that is a trait of the man you most wish not to be president.

I also suggest you would be wise to consider that your neighbors here have as much right to their views of the Democratic process as do you. Do not let your fear of fascism cloud your views of those who likewise abhor it.
