Trump: Muslim soldier was a hero but his father 'has no right' to criticize me
Source: The Hill
Donald Trump praised a Muslim U.S. soldier killed in Iraq but continued to criticize the man's father, who spoke out against Trump at the Democratic National Convention.
After a day of backlash about his comments regarding the family of Humayun Khan, Trump released a statement late Saturday night honoring him.
"Captain Humayun Khan was a hero to our country and we should honor all who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country safe. The real problem here are the radical Islamic terrorist who killed him, and the efforts of these radicals to enter our country and do us further harm," Trump said.
While I feel deeply for the loss of his son, Mr. Khan who has never met me, has no right to stand in front of millions of people and claim I have never read the Constitution, (which is false) and say many other inaccurate things. If I become President, I will make America safe again.

(4,113 posts)on Mr. and Mrs. Khan that he's trying to backpedal by praising their son but continuing to show how thin-skinned he is by claiming Mr. Khan has no right to criticize him.
Has anyone in the past 12 months criticized Trump without getting a response from him in some negative way? I've never seen anything like it. Every time someone criticizes Trump, he retaliates with some name-calling conniption on social media or verbally with the all-too-accommodating mainstream media.
This is not the temperament you want in a leader of anything at any level, especially POTUS.

(4,113 posts)He certainly would not have been elected to a second term, if he would have been elected the first time after behaving like Trump has.
The attacks on Obama have been baseless 99% of the time and have been more frequent, more personal and more severe than anything levied against Trump during this campaign season.

(3,056 posts)Too bad we're better than that. He seriously doesn't get it, does he? Everyone has the right to criticize him! And I'm sure he has read The Constitution...especially Article XII.
My suggestion for a question to him at the debates. "For the sake of this discussion, setting aside the 1st, 2nd, and 5th Amendments, name 3 more articles in The Bill of Rights." I'd love to watch his head explode

(3,702 posts)whenever someone criticizes him. He said that when he was talking about the speakers at the DNC - something like "they were saying really bad things about me, they never met me"
Like for some reason meeting Trump is a requirement for not liking him, as if all his actions and speeches aren't enough on their own.
I mean he is so full of random bullshit, but this always strikes me as a bizarre comment.

(14,049 posts)But then, they aren't Trump, so it doesn't count.
The fact that he is clearly deranged in a major way is something that should be emphasized every day. That the GOP put this man up for POTUS, should be used to humiliate not just his supporters, but all Republicans seeking public office. Silence is not enough - make them explain how this is normal.

(24,720 posts)the "only" thing you feel deeply about is either having Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, on the face of a currency you stiff contractors, and mom & pop businesses, in your fraudulent Trump U scheme, in your pockets.
Have you ever walked among the head stones of Arlington there dirt bag-------------yes or no?
It's a really simple question to answer, but who knows how you would FLIP FLOP, that's what the MSM should ask you, dirt bag, while you were visiting with your republican cronies like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell and Rience Prebius and figuring out how to steal an election with all of the political corruption and "Dark Money".
Did they, the other fascists Ryan and McConnell or you say, hey, lets go down to see JFK tombstone, or the mast of the ship of the Main, or Capt Kahn's headstone, or the union soldiers buried near Robert E Lees home.
Do you know why Arlington is Arlington, did you attend the classroom at Wharton to find out the answer.
Let me give you the answer, the union soldiers were buried there because Lincoln wanted to remind Lee and Jefferson Davis that they were traitors, and that the union soldiers were not traitors, and that Lee could not move back into the home because the United States government wanted the LEE family to pay for the civil war and the all associated costs, and to have it has a reminder.
Have you been to the Tomb of the Unknowns, dirt bag, and watch the guards protecting the site, you do know why its there don't you, and why the Old Guard protects Arlington and the Tomb of the Unknowns.
Did you go down to the Vietnam War Memorial, while you were in Washington with your republican buddies, to see if you could find any "friends" that went while you were worried about the bunion between your ears and your five deferments.
Yeah, you know the deep loss of the Khan family, right, you really are a hypocrite, and you don't even have to practice being a right wing hypocrite , its just comes naturally, when you haven't even been on the grounds of Arlington
