Brasilia – Brazil's acting president, Michel Temer, on Monday hailed the opening of the U.S. market to Brazilian beef, saying that it will help create new jobs and will expand trade for the South American giant.

The agreement opening the doors of the U.S. market to fresh and frozen meat produced in Brazil was reached last week in Washington after 17 years of negotiations between the two countries.

Nevertheless, he specifically emphasized that it will help create new jobs in Brazil at a time when some 11 million people are unemployed in the South American nation.
