Gingrich: Republicans Shouldn’t Worry, Trump Has ‘Gotten the Message’

Source: Mediaite

by Josh Feldman | 9:51 am, August 7th, 2016

Newt Gingrich, after expressing some frustrations with Donald Trump last week, assured on Fox News Sunday that Trump has “gotten the message.”

Despite his feud with a Gold Star family, it was Trump’s refusal to back fellow Republicans that caused a frenzy within the GOP. Gingrich himself, one of Trump’s biggest media boosters, said that Trump is not performing at the level a responsible presidential candidate should and that he has engaged in “self-destructive” behavior.

He said, “The current race is which of these two is the more unacceptable, because right now neither of them is acceptable.”

So this morning, Chris Wallace asked Gingrich, “How close is he to disqualifying himself?” Gingrich said, “If you look at the last few days, I think he’s gotten the messages.”

If trump shuts up and mails it in, his rallies will suffer, and he will implode. He needs the constant feedback from sayin stupid stuff to stupid people. Without it he is frustratednd dejected.

If he keeps being trump, he will keep having bad weeks.

So what message did he get exactly? Don't shoot at republicans? It's part of who he is.......

Newt believes that is the Republican WAY,
and that it will excite more Republican "values voters,"
and move them into the Trump column.

I have to doubt that a Narcissist like Trump sees anything wrong with his behavior, so even though he surely knows the value of being a phony and making empty promises, I think Newt is dreaming to expect a major personality change. I would bet even money that Trump comes completely unzipped before November.

If I were a betting woman I'd bet even money that Mr. Trump will become "unzipped" after the first debate (if he does not back out ). He is who he is ... someone who can be "baited" by a 140-character tweet and over-reacts to any criticism . He does not have the discipline to stay on "message" (sorry, Newt) . Trump does not want to put in the work to be POTUS. (I truly believe he thinks he running for dictator).

This is just an opportunity to go on the Sunday shows and keep his brand fresh. I am sure Gingrich has a lot of videos and books to sell after the election. The republican party has become a party of grifters and con men always seeking free publicity.

If Newt thinks for one second he can thicken tRump's skin he is fooling himself.
To his core tRump is a thin-skinned narcissist and the slightest poke from someone like Warren (a accomplished women) or Clinton (accomplished women) or Booker (accomplished person of color) will set him on a rant for days.
Newt isn't fooling anyone.

Hillary's campaign appears to be working with people like Warren to hit Trump at just the right times. Hit him and let him erupt as you back off. Let him think he is past that one then hit him again. Repeat over and over.

I think all presidential candidates should be psychologically screened before being allowed to run.
Before this year, I never would have said that.

The man says anything that will push whatever agenda he happens to be pushing that day. This has been his MO since the 80s.

Trump won't change, and when Gingrich is inevitably invited back on teevee to give his sage insider opinion, this will be forgotten just like all of his other red-meat tossings.
