It is frustrating when your opponent resolutely abandons any intention to attack. Frankly, these comments wouldn't even attract that much attention coming from a man after a European match. This statement is literally provided every week by someone. The headline is truly an exxaggeration, although I understand why it seems extreme to casual spectators or the sport.

Sweden played defensively - to tie, not to win. There is such a thing as ugly play - its what happened in the Euro Cup final. And their coach knows our weaknesses; she coached us to the Gold 4 years ago.

Sweden got their shootout and the US shanked one over the crossbar. Thats the way the cookie crumbles.

No surprise, the Swedes always play defensively. That should not be a surprise to any top level player.

It isn't exciting but trying to change and run with a powerful attacking team like the US would be foolish. Each team played its game. Sweden earned the win by blunting the US attack then winning the battle of nerves.

It does not seem like she holds back even when her comment is about her own team. She has criticized the coaching staff, at least one teammate, and at least one former U.S. Women's National Team member. If someone puts a mic in front of her face she will most likely say exactly what she is thinking.
