Rubio Stands By Claim That Trump Is A 'Con Man', Still Supports Him
Source: Talking Points Memo
In the final weeks of his 2016 presidential run, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) threw every insult in the book at Donald Trump, calling him a litigious, orange con man. The Florida senator said Monday that he will not retract those comments, even though he is now supporting Trumps campaign.
Ive stood by everything I ever said in my campaign, Rubio told the Miami Herald editorial board in a meeting when asked about the "con man" remark.
Rubio, who is running for reelection after insisting that he would become a private citizen next year, claimed that Trumps candidacy helped convince him he needed to remain on Capitol Hill.
Were in a different place now. Now we have a binary choice not a choice between 15 people or 12 people, he told the Herald staff. There are two people in the world that are going to be the next president, either Donald or Hillary. In our republic, while the presidency is powerful, there is a balance of power in this country, and a significant amount of it resides in the United States Senate. Its one of the reasons why I seek to run again.

I think Rubio is supporting gop positions and whoever Don is being puppet for . Ran across these two articles which makes me wonder if the Koch brothers are the puppet master , plus Pence has bee a Koch guy for long time .
" Don announced his new agricultural advisory committee on Tuesday as he looks to improve his standing with voters, especially in rural swing states.
The roster includes six conservative governors Terry Branstad (Iowa), Sam Brownback (Kan.), Pete Ricketts (Neb.), Mary Fallin (Okla.), Dennis Daugaard (S.D.), and Jack Dalrymple (N.D.) as well as 2016 GOP primary rivals Rick Perry and Jim Gilmore. "

"As the 2016 election approached, the Koch brothers were widely reported to be urging Pence to run, which he ultimately declined to do. His name on the Trump ticket-if that happens-still doesnt guarantee the Koch network will lend financial support to the presidential campaign. Politico and the Washington Post already both reported Thursday that the Koch networks dislike of Trump will keep them from spending money on the presidential race even with Pence on the ticket.
That might change, or it might notbut either way the Koch brothers will have a powerful advocate for their ideas in the room. And Trump will have his very own puppet of the GOPs highly sophisticated killers.

(24,703 posts)a "guy" that flip flops on about every issue, showed up to vote how many times while in the senate, and on the tax payers dime, lets look:
Senator Votes missed (career) Absentee rate
Cruz 152 out of 1,026 14.8 percent
Rubio 224 out of 1,512 14.8 percent
Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y., 2001-2009) 249 out of 2,616 9.5 percent
Sanders 131 out of 2,865 4.6 percent
Looks like the Democrats show up to do there job----------------
And now that he has a albatross hanging around his neck, and that herr drumpf is a "con" man that he will still support him--------------------boy, that shows someones character, he conned the citizens of Florida, and the only and I mean the only two reasons that he wants that job back, so that he can block the new Democratic president if they(republican ) have a majority in the senate ( doubt that going to happen) for the Supreme Court, and pick up a pay check of $174,000 a year and do absolutely nothing

(466 posts)The only problem i see is how high Rubio is polling, in the mid-high 40s. But there doesn't seem to be any consistency in presidential polls verse the senate polls. An NBC poll had Clinton up 5% and Rubio up 6%. While an OpinonSavvy poll had Clinton up 0.9% and Rubio up only 1.3%.
