State Department to release all of Clinton’s deleted emails
Source: The Hill
The State Department will release all of the work-related emails that the FBI recovered from Hillary Clintons private system, the department confirmed in a recent court filing, eliminating the possibility that the messages will remain secret. However, it remains unsettled whether the full set of emails will be out before the presidential election on Nov. 8.
The thousands of messages will be released to Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that has filed numerous legal complaints over the former secretary of States email setup while in office, the department said. Judicial Watch, which routinely releases documents it obtains via open-records lawsuits, is expected to make the emails public.
State has voluntarily agreed to produce non-exempt agency records responsive to plaintiffs [Freedom of Information Act] request, the department said in a short filing on Friday.
The State Department has declined to set a timeline for releasing the emails, and a court conference to discuss the matter has been scheduled for Aug. 22. Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, has urged the department to release the emails before the November elections.

So sick of emails...

(260 posts)Step 1: Trump releases tax returns (all the years like Clinton). If there is an audit, release the pre-audit filings.
Step 2: State Dept releases emails
Only thing holding this up is step 1.

(11,519 posts)Then, and only then, will the 'pukes allow this to go away. It was the same deal with Bill's blow job (in what should have been a private matter between adults), they twisted around what he said and turned that into a charge of lying to Congress. Those fuckers HATE anything associated with the name Clinton and will dig for the slightest bit of dirt.

You're so right, and those behind this don't seem capable of learning or controlling themselves. Their self-indulgent hatred of Hillary is just one of their bigotries, and these people are also most of those determined to keep the party white. They're a major, though hardly the only, reason the party's problems were coming to a boil before this election and before Trump.

(11,588 posts)They won't find the smoking gun they want so then it will be alleged to be hiding in the non-"work-related e-mails" as a deliberate cover-up.

(60,336 posts)You can only release them because they were not really deleted. The republicans have been trying to make something out of Hillary "deleting" emails when anyone who has ever needed to retrieve a message from a corporate or government server is they may be deleted but they are never really deleted. You can restore emails from systems that are backed up.

In other words, IT AIN'T NEVER GONE AWAY!

(15,334 posts)but where is our "Liberal Watchdog Group" that is filing document requests 24/7?
Aren't we still missing the records of Cheney's Energy Task Force?
Weren't there like 900K White House emails that Rove "accidentally" deleted? Did we subpoena the server so that the FBI could do a forensic review?
While we're at it. Didn't Condi Rice and Colon Powell both have "private" email? Have we demanded to see all personal email...ya' know, just in case they deleted something that was work related?
What about deposing their assistants and aids and getting their emails as well?
I know we don't want to be like the Repukes, but maybe if we hounded them incessantly with frivolous legal bullsh#$, they'd be a bit reluctant to continue this witch hunt.

(4,973 posts)in keeping in line with how Repuglicans release their documents, I hope they are 2/3 redacted like all the docs release by the Shrub administration.

If folks want to take the time to read them, fine by me.
I don't have that time.
But have no issue with them being released. They should be, imo.
