13 people shot, wounded at Connecticut house party

Thirteen people have been shot and wounded at a house party in Connecticut.

Police in Bridgeport were called to a home around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of shots fired.

Officers found 11 men and two women suffering from gunshot wounds. All of the victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment. One of the women suffered a gunshot wound to the face and is in critical condition.

Police believe there were at least two shooters and that they fired through some hedges in the yard of an adjacent home. There's no word on a possible motive.

gang members would've been inside the party but like someone suggested it could be drug related. i certainly hope it's either drugs or gangs because a hate crime would be a huge problem.

If the partygoers were Gang X and the shooters were Gang Y, it makes perfect sense for the latter to creep up to the party and fire at their rivals from the bushes.

Could also be gang and drug-related, since gangs often have a hand in, if not outright control of, drug distribution in their area.

Lastly, I don't think it would be "better" if it were gang or drug related as opposed to a hate crime, so I'm not sure why you're hoping it's gang or drug related. All three possibilities are equally bad to me.

Not sure if this points to a hate crime without more information. Could be a feud turned violent, gang-related, drug-related or a hate crime. Hopefully they round up the perpetrators quickly. Thankfully it looks like most of the victims weren't seriously hurt. It could have been much worse.
